Returned 19th October after a glorious week of enjoying a very good standard hotel. The staff were friendly especially the restaurant manager, Ahmed, who made sure he spoke with all customers at their tables at some stage during their stay. Clean, bright rooms with towels changed every day. The gardens were well established and beautiful. The food was excellant and in abundance. Clean pool and because it was off season, no hastle with sunbeds. My friends and I felt chilled out and thought it was a very good value for money holiday.

Having visited this site to see peoples reviews, I wasn't expecting alot from this hotel.

In my opinion the service was good and the staff were pleasant, the food was what I would expect from all inclusive. For a 4* in a foreign country, the hotel was exactly what I expected. It was clean and well maintained, and the rooms were to the usual greek standard. We knew before arriving that Kolymbia was a quiet area, but we found the locals very friendly and the local bars cheap and pleasant. The beaches were very relaxing a quiet while we were there.
The entertainment, well what do you expect when its the same guy doing all the activities day in day out, we weren't interested in that side anyway.

Overall I would definately reccommend this hotel for its price and was exactly what we expected when reading the brochure.

The 4 hour flight delay before arriving, is no fault of the hotel.

Returned from the Golden Oddessy on Wed 12th Oct....My mother & I had a great week as we Suprised friends who were there already....We had a fab week & havn't laughed so much in a long time....The Cleanliness of this hotel was of a high standard.. Reviews mention towels being tiny & Awful food....Towels were huge! Food was okay as when in Rome do what the Romans do....The Four star rating! Lots of people say this was not a four star & i have to Agree! a three star i would think for Greece. The Bar staff were so polite & Kind nothing was a problem what you asked for you got without hesitation. Hammed otherwise Called Harry Hill was a star & looked after us at every Whim & couldn't do enough for people....Entertainment could do with looking at as very seldom......When the rain came It Came!!!! There were a few dangerous slippery areas where older people were struggling to get around....Maybe the surfaces need updating to make it safer....The reception on arrival was very rapid on checking you in!!!! The Drinks were okay as local produce....Met some other super guests which made the week a good one....Would i Return??? YES i would.....But would think twice about returning in the height of the season as i don't feel the pool beds/Bar seating area can accomodate the hotel when full. The Journey to Rhodes was with Strategic Airlines WHICH i would NOT reccomend.... The flight was okay but very Cramped.....The aeroplane must have been over 30 years old as seats were broken & were taped together in some places...But all in all overall i would rate this holiday as 8/10....& would like to thank the staff at the Golden Oddessy for there Kindness & Helpfulness.....

Returned yesterday and have to agree with the reviews about the food etc. The hotel was nice and the place was clean but so much more could be done to improve the place. The restauarant staff were lovely and friendly and it appeared that Akhmed - restaurant manager - ran the whole place, morning, noon and night.

I never saw the hotel manager and the few other staff weren't particularly helpful or pleasant, except for the maids who did a very good job..

It cost 25 euros for the safe - which I thought was a refundable deposit.

Kolymbia is a ghost town/village ! There is more or less nothing to see or do. There is one small cove with crashing waves etc which is very pretty.

There is a Travel Company in Kolymbia - MARISTA TRAVEL - The tour guide for the Island Tour, was in my opinion arrogant, rude, unhelpful and appeared to dislike and resent the British. He spoke in German on the coach, which we knew he would, but said very little in English outside of the coach and we paid the same amount of money as the German contingent.

Olympic Holidays also charge 26 euros to take you to Lindos. I thought that would include a guided tour. But , no that is only for the journey there. The local bus ONLY costs 7 euros return.

If you do go on a day trip, make up your own packed lunch. The hotel's packed lunches are very poor.

I made the most of my holiday and have returned home lighter than when I went - all the walking to nowhere, but I would never ever go to Rhodes again and other than the Old Town, where prices are extortionate, there was very little else of interest. Also the Tourist Office is closed on Saturdays,so find out beforehand about the Old Town
