Where do I start.. Well I dug deep to book this hotel as a treat for my partner. One of the main things I chose it for was the Jacuzzi. on arrival We were greeted nicely and shown to our room. The room seemed nice however we soon discovered that the Jacuzzi barely worked and the bottom of the bath kept overheating and burning our skin, as well as this black mould was coming out of the jets and once the Jacuzzi was switched off it kept mysteriously switching itself back on.
We registered our findings with reception (in a very friendly and polite manner) no less that four times over a four day period of our 1 weeks stay. Eventually a maid attended our room and switched on the Jacuzzi, she was very off hand (clearly not believing we were genuine) and persistently kept digging me in the ribs and rambling on in her agitated mother tongue. Well she ended up quite embarrassed to see there was mould appearing and also witnessed it overheating the bottom of the bath as well as switching itself back on (I thought the digging in the ribs probably 8 or 10 times was bordering on assault).
We were moved rooms and one of the senior staff said they would make it up to us (They never did offer us anything).
Furthermore it seemed like a lovely idea eating on the roof terrace and the first time we did this we really enjoyed it. The second and third time were terrible and understaffed with only one person running the roof terrace single handed and having to go from the top of the building down a few floors to bring meals and other things up from the kitchen, the wait and general level of service was awful (and I don't really complain about much at all in life) It was shockingly poor and we watched people getting up and walking out , people were generally getting up tight. I would like to add that the member of staff was lovely and hard working, it was a fault of staffing levels along with organisational issues.
The hotel had a live musican performing on a regular basis, she was okay if you were happy with 70's style Elkie Brooks type stuff.. Well we felt it was totally out of date and that the hotel was out of touch with what people wanted to hear.
On settling the bill I asked for a discount considering all of the above as we'd paid about £250 per night needless to say the Manager declined any reduction.
In summary, would I recommend Rodos Park Suites and Spa.. Certainly not! Poor value for money and poor service.
