This is a long overdue review as I had stayed at this hotel in August 2007 and wanted to write about it as soon as I got back home, but ended up first sending out the complaint letters (to Aegean Airlines). Now that I am planning to go there again for the Easter Holiday I wanted to share my family's experience there. Although we were a large group, 12 in total, with ages ranging from 2 to 80, everyone had a wonderful time. The staff at the hotel were very kind and friendly. Stavroula at the front desk was wonderful and took care of all our requests. For our breakfasts and dinners we had been assigned our own table so that we could all sit together and wouldn't have to look for a free table each time. For breakfast there was an abundant buffet with both hot and cold foods that were constantly being refilled and although breakfast was until 10 a.m. if you arrived a little later there was no problem. For Dinner there was a choice of 3 entrees in addition to the buffet which had everything from salads to soups to delicious desserts. Anyone going there on a diet to loose weight will have a very difficult time. The staff in the dining room was very efficient and the Maitre was everywhere overlooking everthing so that everyone was happy. The only "negative" thing about the dining area was that for dinner the men were required to wear long pants.
Three of the families stayed in the renovated suites and the senior stayed in a standard room which was conveniently located by the main building so that he can have easier access to the facilities there. The suites were very roomy and clean with fantastic views of the sea. After a day of sightseeing and beach activities is was wonderful to return to such a beautiful, relaxing room. The hotel is built on the side of a mountain in a village style setting, with each section consiting of a couple of blocks of rooms on two levels. On the top of the complex there is a very small church and the Lydian Suites that are enclosed by a high gate for privacy. There is a shuttle bus that runs through the complex collecting guests and taking them up and down to the main building and the beach. The beach is nice but there are large stones right on the shore but then there is sand. The pools by the main building are big and clean, however there isn't a proper children's pool. There is a small pool which is a jacuzzi so when it isn't working as a jacuzzi it is O.K. for the little children as long as they are supervised.
Every evening there was free entertainment. Disco night, Greek night, 60's night, Jazz and so on. There is also a mini-market located right next to the main building which is very well stocked for whatever you may need.
In summary, we all had a wonderful time.
