First part is in English and the second is in Serbian, I guess I have the obligation there:
We visited Apollo beach from 21.6-1.7.2009. on half board. We are a family with two children one girl 6 years old and one boy 10 months old.
We got a room immediately when we arrived at 8 in the morning. I have to thank our tour guide from Kalodoukas agency for that. We got a suite 204, with full see view. This was a pleasant surprise, but, as we entered the room we realised that it stank of mould (mildew). We tried to run A/C to the max for a few hours, but it didn't help. The suite was large, I have to admit. It was directly above the stage, so the noise from the football game projected on the large screen was unbearable (take kids into the account, as we go to bed early). Couple of minutes later, while we were thinking what to do, I saw and killed a cockroach 4cm large. In the end, we asked our guide and she arranged a much smaller, but far better and quieter room. We moved immediately. I can not complain any more about the room as this one is quieter than the middle ones (the Greek night and live music is in front) or the other side, towards Blue Apollo Beach pavilion. You have to bear in mind that it faces another hotel and the animation there could be quite loud, but with closed door it was OK.
Now, let me dig into the details of the service in the hotel:
FOOD: Breakfast was above average, always something to choose from, main ingredients always present and you could tune your meal to make it personal to some extent with the cook. Dinner was very good, plenty of different types of food, cooked, grilled, fried, for everyone’s taste. There was at least one Greek meal and one made for the majority of the guests (Germans) and you have different type of pasta every day of the week cooked specially by the chef himself. Snack bar was OK, prices moderate
HOTEL: Impressive hotel, with large lobby, two separate sides, large pool and a huge garden with free umbrellas and sun beds. The staff is very friendly and they speak English, German and Italian. If the room-cleaner does not speak English, she has company of someone who does, neat indeed. There is Internet access in front of the reception, free, and plenty of seating, while you chat or surf or talk to someone (usable for most popular Internet voice clients). The pool is large and clean, plenty of natural and artificial shades around it but we did not use it at all, because of the
BEACH: Sandy beach (now I have to make a digression here, as we really like those sand SAND beaches, with fine sand, where we enjoy castle building and generally having fun with it using it to build different things), almost perfect size of the particle, you can use it for many things. Also, there are sun beds with umbrellas for which you have to pay (EUR7 in our case, for two). There are pathways made of wood, almost to the waterfront, great when the sand is very hot and when with kids. There is one pathway which runs in parallel with the sea and it is great for strolls in the morning and evening, baby buggy with medium sized wheels can go over it without too much trouble. You could go to the see from the garden, using free sun beds without problems and without feeling like you are missing something. There is a beach volleyball court, smallish, but good fun.
I would recommend this hotel to younger people if they can afford it. They will have limited company in the hotel, but plenty to do outside. We were happy with what we could find in and around the hotel, but Faliraki is a place which is not Greek. It does not have any of the Greek typical things, it is oriented towards fun for Brits and we were quite out of the place with two small kids. Rhodes town is not far away and it is worth a visit. Also, visit Tsampiki beach (Tsabika), great sand, long shallow entry in the water, great bay (noting more than one day trip, but worth it), eat at Tsambiki Beach restaurant (when you face the see, on the left side, worth a try) ask for Jorgos, he will help you with the food, transportation, you name it.
Srpska verzija:
Sada malo detalja o samom hotelu.
Postoje i ležaljke i suncobrani (2+1 košta EUR7).
Grad Rodos nije daleko, i vredi ga obići, naročito start deo. Takođe, posetite Cabika plažu (Tsambiki), sa odličnim peskom, dug plitak ulaz, lep zaliv (nije za više dana, ali definitivno dobro za jednodnevni izlet), jedite u Tsabiki Beach restoranu (kada ste okrenuti ka moru sa leve strane, definitivna preporuka), tražite Jorgosa, pomoćiće oko svega, izbora hrane, prevoza, generalnih pitanja.
