These quiet studios are so lovely for a relaxing break , You may hear the sound of church bells and chanting from the chapel next door but this just reminds you are priveliged to be sharing a wonderful culture.
The pool is literally a splash pool but ideal for cooling down in.
The daily cleaning and fresh linen and towels is a lovely surprise for a budget apt.
The staff are very friendly and accommadated us when a member of our party was injured and allowed us to hold a birthday party for her under the terrace that evening. God's garden rest delivered a meal for 10 people with no problem.
We were in room 19 which was perfect for our needs, a room with a view.
The others in our party also had great rooms all with different features.
While we were there a Cretan violinist was staying in room 18 and was often heard to rehearse from his balcony. Very haunting.
A steep walk back from the town in the heat but not far enough to require transport.
Water park still a great day out and a nice change from the beach. 7euros with slides and 5euros for pool and entrance, Good cheap food and drink available and delivered to your lounger with a smile. Toilets very clean also.
Many good restaurants, look out forr 3 course meals for 2 with wine for 18 euros!
Volcano, Gods garden and Aquarius all our favourites, catering for all tastes.
Soul bar and Magic bus friendly bars as where most places , plenty to choose from!
Water taxi to Kamari worth the visit and still only 3 euros, just make sure you get the last one back, check with driver as times vary, prob not a good idea on a windy day.
Local bus to Thira from outside Magic Bus bar 2 euros each way, Good idea to go early in the morning before cruise ship passengers arrive,
Bakery at bottom of the hill open 24hrs and very good.
we are sure whoever visits Mark and Joannas will have a lovely experience.
