My friend and I chose Evizorzia after reading the great reviews on here and the fact that they dont let young children stay - we wanted peace and quiet. We arranged to meet the lovely Karin at the port (but there are buses to Perissa as well as taxis). She gave us a lovely welcome to the Island and made us feel very relaxed after many hours on the ferry from Pireaus (leaving at 7.45 am - ouch)
Perissa is on the other side of the island from teh main twon and the port and is known for its long sandy beach. Am guessing in high season it would be very busy but as we drove through the resort it looked very quiet. We were there toward the end of september and though the weather was still great the bulk of the tourists had long gone leaving Persissa very chilled and sleepy
The Villa is about 5 - 7 minutes walk down a gravel path to the main drag of Perissa (where supermarkets and bars are). There is also a mini mart (expensive) and bakery (lovely) very close by.
When we arrived at the Villa we were introduced to the owner Ioannis and told that after outr stay the Villas woudl be closing for winter as we were the only / last guests of the season. So effectively we had the place to oursleves. This would have been great but we were then told that the pool had "stopped working" the day before. I dont know if there was a problem with the pool or it was because we were the only guests but it was disappointing. The paved gardens around the villas are well kept and full of palm trees.and plants so its quite a nice place to hang out (even better without any other guests!) but the lack of pool was unfortunate...
The chalet / room itself was nice and bright and clean with a small kitchenette. The facilities were basic but we had all the pots and pans and hotplate we needed to make hot meals and salads and a working filter coffee machine & fridge so its dieal if you are looking to save on eating out for at least part of your stay.
There was a large fan which kept the room cook and an aircon unit so really you coudl keep the room fairly cool for bedtime. No mozzies either (but that could have been the time of year)
The bathroom was very outdated and bordered on the scuzzy in terms of decor - plain white tiles and floor would have been much better but we did have lots of hot water for showers and it had a window for ventilation and a vew of the mountains behind. The room was cleaned every day so no complaints there and i guess for this price range you cant expect an all mod cons bathroom....Also the TV only showed 1 very snowy channel (in German) and no international news - quite annoying as most hotels - even in this price range - have a few channels that work.
All in all we had a very pleasant stay at Evizorzia. (Well until the storm caused a powercut on out last morning) - I would recommend it for budget travellers and those wanting a bit of peace and quiet especially if you go toward the end of the season . Am not sure how quiet if woudl be if all the rooms were occupied as the rooms all open out onto a communal paved area so you may see more of your neighbours that you would like.
