“Nice hotel - not a bad location”

Drossos hotel was cheap cheap cheap! Given that it was almost peak season, £175 for 5 nights was a great price.

I had read other reviews about smelly bathrooms etc - yes, they do smell sometimes, but not due to cleanliness! It's a volcanic island and the smell is a little sulfur in the water. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are cleaned everyday.

The hotel staff were excellent. Great service. Breakfast was ok, but a little limited, but for the overall price you can't complain!

Overall I thought Drossos Hotel was great for the price and the fact that it is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Definitely worth a look if you want a budget Santorini holiday.

“Good Value for Money”

I booked this hotel as a last minute holiday for myself and 2 daughters (age 17yrs & 21 yrs). I e-mailed Jackie - reservations manageress to arrange a taxi pick up from airport. Excellent service at 20 Euros. On arrival at the hotel we were shown to our room, which was a large room with 3 single beds, double wardrobe and plenty of storage for all 3 of us. The air-conditioning (which was a godsend in 38 degree heat) was included in the price as was the safety deposit box. The only problem we encountered was the 'safe' was directly underneath the airconditioning unit which leaked water into the safe! Fortunately i had place all passports, money etc into a plastic bag beforehand otherwise they would have been completely ruined.
Breakfast was OK, yoghurts, honey, cold meat, cheese, cereal etc. Maid cleaned the room and replaced towels daily. Bed linen was changed once during our week long visit.
The pool was fine as the hotel wasn't too busy during our visit, however i imagine it would be pretty congested at peak season. Pool towels are provided free of charge which is appreciated, especially if you are trying to keep luggage to a minimum.
Staff were really helpful and friendly. Plenty of bars and restaurants in Perissa. The best meals we had were at the Atlas. Good choice, excellent quality of food and great prices. God's Garden offered good value and is a typical Greek Taverna - great location and very good prices. This is a very good value for money hotel. As a family we usually book a package holiday and stay in 4 - 5* hotels. However, after staying here i wouldn't hesitate to book the hotel again and would definately recommend to anyone looking for a central location, clean accomodation and really friendly people.

“Great staff but not your typical Santorini escape”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

My wife and I stayed here for the first four days of our weeklong Santorini trip as a way to save some money while we got over the jetlag. When we landed we expected the white cliffside houses and postcard beauty but the reality is that Santorini is much larger than you would expect and parts skew more middle eastern than mediterranean - Perissa being more the former.

We took a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport to Drossos (around 20Euros) and we were warmly greeted by George, the wildly friendly hotel manager. He walked us through the services before showing us to our room. The rooms were decent sized with the sleeping area a short stair case above the living room in a loft where the rock hard bed was - some may like their beds hard, I was not a huge fan but after 14+hours flying I could have slept on broken glass. The bathroom was small and the shower was uncomfortable with just a hand unit and no overhead. Bring bottled water for brushing your teeth, the island water is not safe to drink. We also had a small balcony but it looked out at the other units, the hotel pool and an abandon junked pool. Not the greatest view. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7.5 on cleanliness. The TV didn't work and the wireless internet was slow - but neither were the reason we came to Santorini so it had very little effect on us.

The breakfast was complimentary and very good. The staff was attentive and welcoming and Perissa ended up being a nice place to stay to get your feet wet on all that Santorini has to offer. If I had to do it again I would stay here (the price just can't be beat) but probably just for two days before heading to Oia.

“Excellent hotel in a good location for budget travelers. Staff is very friendly & helpful.”

I stayed here with a friend (two single women) and we loved it. The staff were friendly & helpful. They gave us all the information we needed about local sightseeing and transportation. It is a 5-mintue walk to the beach and the main row of restaurants. It is also located near a bus stop so we could see the rest of the island very easily. Across the street is a small market, internet cafe and vendor for sightseeing trips.

This hotel isn't fancy, but it is clean & well-maintained in a great location. It is great for budget travelers.

“Perfect place for a peaceful stay in Santorini”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2009

The Drossos Hotel in Perissa, Santorini was the PERFECT place for me. A three star hotel, not too far from everything and the rooms were large, clean and cute. We had a large balcony, a living room and the bed was upstairs in the mezzannine. We had a huge breakfeast every morning and the pool was clean and really cool. We use to go there everyday to relax. There's the beach at 5 min walking and a couple of good resturants, plus we can go easily to thira by bus. The location was great. And the price is cheap, so it,s good. But THE BEST WAS THE WELCOMING, one of the owner who explain us the history of Santorini and explain us what to do in the ISLANDS. The staff was really nice and WE REALLY ENJOY OUR STAY THERE. If I ever go back to Santorini, I will go back to the DROSSOS hotel. I RECOMMEND at 100% this hotel!!!
