We stayed to Petra Nera hotel as a last minute choice, since we didn't have specific vacation dates up until a week before(!). A friend of ours, who owns a restaurant in Perissa (Acropolis restaurant - nice food) made the arrangements so we got a special price, but 90 euro a day in the high season, as we saw behind the door, seems a lot for this hotel! In my opinion, it is not worth more than 40-50 euro per day.
The furnishing and decoration are poor and dated - probably not renovated since it was built. The beds are really uncomfortable and in most rooms, as far as I had the chance to see, there are two single beds pushed together instead of one double bed - not good for couples! Also, the rooms that face the road (the hotel is located on the main road of Perissa) are really noisy, bikes and cars go by all the time - day and night.
The housekeeping was not really thorough and they changed sheets every 3 days!
The breakfast was also poor and lacked variety and freshness.
The pool was probably clean, we did not swim in it having the beach nearby, but there was nobody at the pool bar at any time!
The beach is like 1 kilometer far - about 15 minutes walk, but Perissa is the only real beach you can visit. Perissa is on the one end - on the other end is Perivolos beach, where all the action takes place - beach bars and water sports.
The owner was nice - he picked us up from the airport and drove us to the port with no extra charge.
In general, this is a hotel that offers basic accomodation with no other amenities!
And, in the end, don't book you ferry tickets with Aegean Speedlines (really small ships) or SeaJets (their ships are out of order every second trip!)
Actually, if you like to have great view and the real colour of Santorini, Oia is the only place that you should stay!
