My husband and I spent a wonderful week at Manos small world at the end of August. Thanassis, the owner, was always available and very helpful regarding any questions we had on excursions or restaurants. He also advised us a very good deal for renting a car for part of our stay which allowed us to tour the island thoroughly! The position is wonderful. All rooms overlook the Caldera with breathtaking views from the terrace in front of each room. Breakfast was served on the terrace shortly after they noticed the room window shutters opening. They even catered to a certain brand of green tea that I usually have for breakfast, which wasn't usually served. Staff always kind and even the 72 steps that divide the entrance to Manos from the main street are made more simple by staff helping with the luggage. The location of Firostefani beats Fira hands down! It is much less crowded than Fira, yet close enough that you can walk there on the panoramic promenade around the Caldera (about 15 min walking leisurely). Do bring comfortable walking shoes for touring Santorini and don't miss dinner either at Vaniglia restaurant, just above Manos or at Saltsa just on the main road before entering Fira. Manos does not have a pool, but we were interested in going to the beaches, however, it does have a very nice hot tub on the terrace.
Excellent choice for a dreamy, romantic holiday!

We stayed in Manos for 5 night in October when the season was starting to be over. We liked to hotel very much: the location, service and room itself. The terrace was nice and view was as beautiful as it can be in Santorini. Restaurants and cafes are nearby. Someone here in the tripadvisor was complaining about the breakfast: that is true but breakfasts are always light in Southern Europe so do not expect too much. Please also notice: no pool, no restaurant, no bar.

Perched high up on the edge of the caldera, the view from this small hotel was amazing, particularly in the morning and the evening. Having breakfast on the terrace at 8am as the sun was coming up behind the rim of the caldera was unforgettable. Our room, no 4, was well fitted and large, and had a good ensuite bathroom. However it was the hospitallity, the generosity and the great service provided by Mr Thanasis and everyone at Manos Small World that made our stay so enjoyable. From the bottle of wine and the plate of cheese and olives that greeted on our arrival, to the walk that Mr Thanasis took with us up to the road on our departure, we were made to feel special.
The 40 odd steps to the hotel would represent a problem for some people but we had no difficulty with them. We enjoyed the restaurants close by, particularly Mama Thira and it was clear from its popularity that we were not alone.
This is a great hotel that we could recommend to anyone.

It is a long time since I have stayed in the perfect spot. Nothing a guest would seek was omitted by the proprietor Mr. Thanasis. The rooms are big, modern, airy and delightfully presented with simple dining facilities, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, plates and cutlery. There is wifi in every room as well as TV, a sitting area, good wardrobe and splendid bathroom with walk in shower. Outside every room is a wide terrace area where breakfast is served on tabels individual to each room. We occupied three rooms and they put the tables together to accomodate us. Breakfast was a feast with delicious different Greek specialities served every morning. The rooms were checked and replenished twice a day. A large bowl of fruit and a bottle of Santorini wine greeted us on arrival. We were a stone's thrown from really good restaurants serving Santorini dishes and wonderful fresh fish. I would happily recommend this place to anyone fit for the steps, stairs and climbs of Santorini. The owner is definitely on the right track for winning a hospitality award. Is there a down side? The steps down and up. The instant coffee. As against that, we were provided with coffee and filters for our rooms when Mr. Thanasis learned of our preference.
