“Nice people in nice hotel!”

The hotel is very good. It has very good location, it is clean and very nice. But the most important thing for us was very professional and friedly people working in this hotel! Also I loved the dinner menu - every day there was something new. The breakfast was good too. Give thanks to cook!
We swimmed almost every morning and evening - the beach of sea is very close (maybe ~50 meters from out room). At the same time the center of Platanias is only ~1 km away. And next to the see is great outside bar.
Definitely I will recommed the hotel to everyone. Especially to people who want to find quiet and good place to stay.
There are some rooms in the first floor that didn't feel so good.
Probably the beautiest town of Crete - Chania is only 12 km away. If you don't have/rent a car, you can easily get there by bus or by taxy. I never been in eastern part of Crete, but we didn't get out from the west part within 6 days of our vacation.

“LOVELY CLEAN HOTEL AND NICE LOCATION ..”

We have just stayed at the Apladas in August 2009 myself, husband and two kids.

The hotel is lovely, location great so near to the beach(shingle).
I cant fault the service or staff aor how clean it was. If you have kids that need to entertained then this will be no good for you there is nothing for children to do only swim.

My only fault was the food!!!!! It was buffet (OK) but even the pasta was either luke warm or not hot enough even the kids got fed up.

Onlt stay bed and breakfast some really nice places to eat in the main town.

“Nice for families with young children”

The Hotel is situated in Platanias (10 min by car from the city of Chania). There room was on the 2nd floor with great view to the pool.(1 pool for babys, 2nd Pool for children and 3rd pool for everyone -adults and children ). Very spacious and clean.Although as a 4 star hotel there was no mini bar and we had to pay extra for the sunbeds and umbrella at the beach. The beach was really very long, but the sea had no clear water...So the most of the days we had to use the swimming pool.We stayed on Halfboard and breakfast and dinner were great ! So was the service from all the personnel.

“Par for the course”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2008

The Apladas is located just past the densest part of platanias and so has a feeling of privacy, quiet and open space that the other hotels in Platanias do not. However, the sea water is a bit muddy here compared to what you see 500 meters towards the center of Platanias. We chose the Apladas because the design has very private balconies with a sea view in certain parts of the hotel (our room was 232). One should ask for either the 2nd or 3rd floor. On the other hand, the room doors offer virtually zero soundproofing and we were woken up by activity in the hallways. Overall the hotel has a four-star feel, but the rooms are three-star: small rooms, cheap furniture and bathroom fixtures, 13" TV, no clock, and no decor. Nevertheless, the room had a clean feeling, and the couch becomes a bunk bed for two kids. The breakfast is excellent and the staff friendly. Since we looked at several other hotel in the area, I would say the Apladas is pretty much par for the course in terms of price and amenities. If we ever return to Platanias we would probably try another property such as the Blue Dome which has a cleaner-looking sea in front of it to swim in.

  • Liked — Balcony with view and privacy
