“OK place in many ways”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

Jasmine Village was great for kids because of the swimming pools, and the quietness, but the standard of the rooms was very basic indeed (sort of the cheapest 'early 70's Cretan')! Clean, though! We had breakfast at the hotel and thanked our stars on a daily basis for not having opted for more meals or all-inclusive, since the food was less than tempting (my husband and I settled for tomato, cheese and bread as the only palatable alternative, but the coffee was ok!). The staff was pleasant and friendly. Another minus was the fact that both the village and the hotel seemed to be totally Scandinavian, and may be charcterized as a Scandinavian enclave, which is not our cup of tea (though we are Scandinavian!). Still, Platanias is a good place as starting point for explorations of Crete! Our grandchildren loved Knossos, and we also went to the west coast as well as further west (Kissamos).

Room Tip: We had a (corner) room with 2 balconies and 1 patio, which was nice. It overlooked the pool so coul...

“Helt ok”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

This place was ok for what we paid. We were 4 in a to bedroom apartment for a week. The rooms were nice and clean, maybe a little bit old on the inside. Beds were a little bit too hard, but with a clean feel to it. The bathroom was very small and clean except for the dirty shower curtain, The livingroom was spacious and ok. TV was super small, but we didnt really watch much so it was ok. Kitchen was ok and good air con in all rooms. We paid extra for breakfast the hole week, but it was not worth it. Bad quality food and not really a good variety. For the days we went on excursions early we missed out on breakfast and they werent willing to offer any form for compensation. The chairs by the pool area were always "reserved" with towels laying there and nobody around. The location was nice, not far to the beach, shopping and restaurants. 30 min to Chania. Overall a good stay. Car rental is recommended

“Lovely place close to everything....”

We simply loved to stay at Jasmine - located in the centre of Platanias close to everything! The service from the staff were excellent and they made us feel comfortable and welcome. The food from the buffet was ok, but the selection to choose from was not impressing. Although we got full every day :-)
I would really recommend this hotel to everyone - younger couples and the elderly.
Perhaps one day we will return!

We have stayed in Jasmine 3 times. Nice, quiet and clean hotel. Unfortunately no private parking at the hotel, but it was not such a problem for the family. The staff was so kind and hospitable. Thank you Jasmine Village, we will come back again soon.
