Once upon a time, when you got 1.60 Euros to the pound this might just have been an average deal. However, now it is 1.09 Euros to the pound and you are paying double London prices for, in my case, a room with a cracked mirror and an air of faded gentility. Only the food and the wine, together with the service, saved this from being an awful experience. I appreciate that the proprietors try to create an air of whimsical charm and succeed, particularly in the grounds. However, they need to refurbish the rooms and tthink about pricing. Time to modernise or fade away.
