Nice setting and the girls were lovely hosts. The dogs were fun as well. Meals were reasonably tasty home-style cooking.
The beds were extremely comfortable, which we were very, very appreciative after a few weeks of travel.
Hot water was very brief - about three minutes, meaning the other person has to wait for it to reheat.
The actual town is great - friendly, small and peaceful. Got a sense the locals were happy to have you around, which isn't always the way in Belize.
Not so pleased with the cost aspects. Having stayed in Belize for a couple of weeks, we knew the benchmarks. When prices weren't disclosed, we figured they couldn't be too outlandish. When the bill arrived, we found they were charging prices in line with a NY hotel, rather than a Belize hotel. Transport costs were similar. Then they acted surprised that we didn't have cash, loaded our bill with a 9% credit card processing fee and a 10% service charge. That's 19% out of nowhere. Our two nights cost more than a 5 nights at other Belize locations.
The 'jungle canopy' bathroom is a failed concept: there's not really a canopy and anyone walking past can observe you showering or defecating ... lovely. Any of the other rooms would be fine in that respect though.
Overall, I think they try hard, but I don't feel the high costs (of food and transport) are justified. I'm not sure if you could stay here but eat elsewhere - other places to eat weren't apparent.
Final point - our experience may have been different in some respects, as the owner wasn't there the first night and we were the only guests in the whole place. Might have meant we didn't get a thorough introduction to costs and alternative eating locations, not sure.
