“Majestic sea views of False Bay and Fish Hoek.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2010

I lost my heart at "A Whale of a time". This was not the 1st time that we stayed there. I love the place. From the balcony I can relax, read and enjoy the sights & sounds from the ocean. We have seen the whales last October 2009 must better from the balcony than from the whale boat. Fishhoek en Kalkbay are magical little villages - and you can see it from the balcony. The rooms are spacious, clean and the manangement is excellent. A Whale of a time is the best place to stay in the Cape! You explore the whole Capetown area from there. Charming! I love A whale of a time! I will go back!

“Perfectly Placid”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2009

Located up a hill, A Whale of a Time was the perfect respite. The caretakers were courteous and helpful and the amenities and proximity to the beach made it an ideal way to end a wonderful trip. An easy drive away from Muizenberg and Simon's Town. A great place to hang your hat while you relax.

“Awesome view, great lodging”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2009

This beautiful, spacious room overlooked False Bay. It is a gorgeous view. The rooms have kitchens and patios. Our room was clean and tidy. The only thing that was a problem was the cold. We arrived in winter and the only heat we were provided was a tiny electric heater.

“whale of a view!”

My wife and I just returned from a fabulous trip to the cape peninsula, south africa. We spent 5 nights at A Whale of a Time.
We were greeted first by Right Whales directly in front of our apartment!
The gorgeous view of False Bay was right there at every moment.
The whales really must also find this a great place. We saw them out front morning, noon, and night. They serenaded us to sleep.
The apartment was terrific! The beds were awesome and the bath soothing. All was perfect for a couple on a romantic getaway.
The thing that really made everything perfect was our host, Debbie. She made our trip seamless with her help with day trip planning and recommendations. She booked us the best table in a great restaurant and had them provide special details for my wife's birthday dinner. She even surprised my wife with roses and chocolates for her birthday.
Debbie is very cheery and delightful. Each morning I shared our previous day's adventures with her.
Stay here! It is absolutely fabulous!
