“A must stay”

Pousada do Frances was recommended to us by friends who visited Fernando de Noronha in 2010. After a flight from Recife, a 10 min. drive with the public bus and a short walk to the pousada we were warmly welcomed by the French owner, Ludo.

Ludo has lived on the island for more than 10 years and knows all the ins and outs of the island, from the best beaches to the most swinging nightlife spots. Ludo is very entertaining to talk to (in almost every language) he has a contagious form of enthusiasm (regarding the island, traveling in general, world economics etc.). Further, Ludo gave us some useful money-saving tips, since all goods and services on the island are pretty expensive. If you are lucky he will even take you to Lion beach (his favourite) for a snorkel trip.

The pousada is located closely to a village that offers fine restaurants and even some nightlife venues. The pousada itself is simple, clean and comfortable. The rooms are medium seized and well maintained. Each room has its own porch with a hammock and some chairs to relax. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is truly Brazilian, including pastries and lots of fresh fruit.

In short, a must stay!

“Peaceful hide-out, great base to explore”

Since the only seafront pousada on the island (Joab's) was not available, we decided to pick Frances. And we will go back there when the time comes again! A very nice and peaceful hide-out, though not far from the main road across the island, at the border the main town. We spend 6 nights and rented a buggy for the entire stay, which I would strongly recommend: both convenient and adventurous to explore the island. Our tasteful aircon room with nice terrace for max 3 was fine for 4 (kids 5 and 7), the owner put in an extra bed which fitted perfectly. At our stay we had no trouble with mosquitos, we didn't use the nets we brought with us. Reception desk (portuguese, french, german; not english) was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was sufficient in choice and tasteful. To us, Frances was a great base to explore an amazing island, with family snorkeling every day on different beaches, and much more.

“review of Pousada do Francés”

I stayed a week at this French-managed pousada. I was met at the airport by Luana, one of the 2 friendly receptionists, who helped me with setting up boat and island tours. It is set in a quiet garden with seating and hammocks on veranda´s and within 5 min. walk from the centre there are many restaurants. The French manager is extremely friendly and hospitable and enquires whether everything is to your liking. Definitely recommendable.

We had a very nice stay at Pousada do Frances. The rooms are nice, especially with the little veranda, breakfast real good and beaches and restaurants close by. We really enjoyed the trip. Thank you

“3rd time in noronha ,best cost benefit in that range.”

It is the 3rd time i am going to fernando de noronha ,i have been to 4 diffrerent pousadas and i have to say that the pousada do frances is the best cost benefit on the island in that range ,for that kind of price you don t get flat 40 inch screen dvd and free wi fi in many others pousadas which charge the same. The pousada is well located near the villa dos remedios but a little outside the village so it is quiet at night. The little off side is the dirt road to get to the pousada .
