We came to Inn at Lock Seven quite accidentally: we were tired after a long day of cycling, so we stopped for tourist information, and they directed us to the inn. The service was wonderful and personalized -- you can tell this is a family-run establishment. The rooms were clean and reasonably priced. What's more, we had a fun view of the lock which entertained my husband for hours.

They serve a continental breakfast the next morning and you get to meet one of the owners of the inn. I liked the personalized service and the genuine gratitude for our patronage. It is a lovely inn that I have already recommended to a few people.

The Inn at Lock Seven is terrific. Great location and value. It is everything it says it is. Comfortable, reasonably priced, great proprietor and the wonder passage of ships on the Welland Canal. Its ideally located for road cycling - either beginner or serious. We'll be back!

The owner was very accomodating. We really lucked out--seeing a tanker ship almost immediately after checking in, as well as another one after we came back after dinner. (and again at 3 a.m.) There is a viewing center down the street with more information and a schedule, as well as a viewing area right next to the lock. The hotel is older, the beds are rock hard but the location makes up for everything. All the staff were very nice....the complimentary breakfast was also nice. Bank, Chinese restaurant (Fong's) and an Irish bar right down the street from the Inn. Niagra Falls was about a 20-minute drive away.

Nice clean rooms, comfortable beds, decent bathrooms - all a sideshow compared to the show off your balcony of the ships going through Lock 7 of the Welland Canal (a single lock not dual like the flight locks 4/5/6). Great views of the ships, very nice hosts and a well run clean small inn with a nice neighbourhood location. Would absolutely recommend at least one stay at this property to experience the sight of seeing the ships navigate passage of the canal.
