Pousada de Nossa Sra. Assunção is located near the Arraiolos Castle (10 minutes walking) and is a historic hotel.
There you can enjoy a relaxing period since it is quiet and friendly.
I stayed at the Pousada for three nigths and in witch one of them they left something nice at the bedroom, fruit, juice, milk, local sweets.
The staff was always very polite and friendly.
You can not get bored since they have lots of activities, tennis, swimmig pool, hourse center.
The restaurant is very good and you can taste local food.

Traveled with small infant and familiy for New Years Eve. Great location, nice and relaxing scenary, well dimensioned and confortable. This "pousada" or "inn" is a converted "convent", with its church and clausts.
Staff is professional and friendly. Suprised to see the amount of real art displayed. Great quality paitings and sculptures can be observed from several known portuguese artists.
The "almost" is due to the urgent maintenance that the hotel requires. Walls need to be repaired due to falling paint, room TV's are analogic, old and have bad signal. Missing a children's channel. Carpet corridor also require to be replaced. Rooms "key" holder was loose. Better climate control on areas near the restaurant (like the bathrooms) are really necessary.
In general quite happy with pousada and wish to go back.

The "Pousadas" is a group of lodgements in Portugal where you can stay in a very special way, very different from a ordinary hotel.
A "Pousada" is usually an historical building that is converted into a lodgment for tourists.
The Pousada of Arraiolos is an ancient Convent (it even has a chapel).
It's a very quiet and stilish place to stay. The Pousada it's a destination itself.
Unfortunatelly it's usually very expensive to stay in a Pousada (around Eur 150,00 a double room per night) but it's definitelly a beautiful place to relax and be in peace.

BMW Motoclube Portugal is traveling all year long having fun in Portugal. This year the proposal was the "Pousadas Itinerary". Each month the group discovers a different portuguese region and stays in a different Pousada. Arraiolos was the first month and Pousada. You know the feeling when you're sure you were wright? The option for the best portuguese touristic network was a perfect win from the first tour!
We arrived and were received by the professional and very polite Pousada staff. There are small things as a smile or a glass of a wonderful liquor ther prepare you for a wonderful weekend... This was only the check-in feeling. The rest of the weekend? Well, we sure know that it was perfect - every minute, thats the only reason why from january to july (because we don't ride during august - holidays) the majority of the club members have repeated and repeated the monthly trips and today we know seven more pousadas :-)
Concluding: the Pousada de Arraiolos staff is certainly one of Pousadas best assets. Not the only one. But to be fair we had to post this review recognising that it was the Pousada's best.
