The good: convenient location with lake views, quiet rooms, trendy-modern, recently re-done with comfortable beds, and helpful staff.

The bad: the worst-smelling bathroom ever. For some reason, they decided to only re-do half the hotel (money?). Literally, they did the lobby, and the rooms (very trendy modern) but left the bathrooms and hallways, which both looked and smelled like they were in a 1970s moldy swamp. I had to hold my nose to shower.

There is no Air conditioning, but I think that's common in Norway. The smell is not. That being said, there aren't many other options in Voss, so I would still stay here, but just be prepared.

I will also advise that the 'piano bar' is THE place to be after 11pm. I'm not sure where all the people come from, because the rest of Voss seemed deserted (and this in high season in August) but they all ended up in the piano bar. There is also a fun karyoke bar in the parking lot area, near the lake, and the hotel is the home of the base for Nordic Adventures, which runs kayaking and other fun adventure trips - I highly recommend them for that purpose.

Good location, near the train station and the little town center, but hotel itself is huge and somewhat anachronistic. No personal touch, nothing to really make you feel at home. Yet, for a short stay it's nice and comfy, clean and close to everywhere.

This hotel caters for a lot of coach parties and seemily does it very well. As a couple on half board we were found a quieter spot to eat our buffet dinner which was very considerate. The cold buffet was good but the hot buffet, we personally found a little hit and miss. Breakfast was good. We had a big room over-looking the lake which was clean and tidy but definitly due for redecoration.
Not sure of the merits of staying in Voss. If we had organised this trip ourselves we would probabley stayed in adifferent town.

We stayed three nights in this hotel, the last night from saturday on sunday. Yes, the hotel is upgraded recently but only the restaurant, the lobby and the way to the parking. Our room was oke but very noisy, no matter if the neighbours used the shower, the toilet or just opened the door, we could all hear it. This is really annoying if you like to sleep at twelf and the neighbours decide to make a party up to three in the morning. We spent one night diner in the hotel, were treated like we were children of a lesser God and had to to pay the full price. If you decide to eat there be sure to get well dressed and don't wear shorts and t-shirts like we did. Behind the hotel there is a private parking so you can park your car, unfortunately this parking is also used by local people. After beautifull siteseeing it's then hard to get your car parked and thus you are forced to pay. In the basement of the hotel is a disco on saturday, be prepared to listen to the music up to three were isolation is not known in this hotel.
