this a modern concrete bulding just along the fjord. it looks like a stalinian fossile. the room was big and the bed comfortables. it is just on the road so avoid the road side. our room was on the fjord side and very calm. the clients and the employees seemed all to come from russia. the breakfast is in a very big room with a large table for the buffet but few items on it to eat. we really had a feeling of being suddenly in some sovietic republic but correct in every way

The Hotel is in a superb setting alongside a Fjord and Laerdal, as a place, is well worth visiting. The accommodation was quite nice but we found the down side of the Hotel to be the breakfast and the attitude of certain staff.
For five days in Norway we found everyone we met to be so welcoming which made it all the more amazing to be met with such surly and unhelpful staff at breakfast in this Hotel. Don't expect anything cooked and prepare for some stale white bread to go in a toaster which had seen better days. Basic 'tea' doesn't feature for breakfast and if you ask for some you're told they don't have any!
The Hotel is not cheap and maybe relies on its superb location to attract customers. We wouldn't go near it again.
