Ok, i just had to, i live in Mandal, and this hotel is just terrible, I hoped thast i could say something else, but the hotel has note been upgraded since the late 70's, so you see, we really need a new hotel in Mandal.
But if you want to visit our beattiful city, then all i can say you don't have some much of a choice, sorry
We normaly us this hotel for the business conection through our company, anf the feedback i get from the clients who visit us is not nice. but a stay to crash down for the night.

This place is ready for a real renovation! Hard to sleep, to much noise outside the door (staff?)
housekeeper employed locked herself in without knocking and I stood ther naked!

I suspect this is the largest hotel in Mandal. It is well maintained but the buidling and rooms are showing their age. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. There is a nice free breakfast on offer. But the rooms I saw look to have been last updated in the 80's so they look a little worn. They were clean. Mandal is a small town so even though the location is not in the heart of town it is an easy walk to restaurants, stores, and the harbor. I did not try the restaurant in the hotel. The hotel offers free wi-fi. I also didn't have the chance to try the bicycles parked in front of the hotel and I suspect they are available for use by guests. The TV in my room was in desperate need of replacement. and its picture was dark, fuzzy and unwatchable.

We paid a litlle extra for a room with a veranda. The veranda was full of cigarette butts and the paint was peeling off. Our room was spacious with ample but very worn furniture. The bathroom had tiles and furniure which certainly could qualify for a prize in bad taste. More than half of the light bulbs in the breakfast room were not working, leaving our table in a gloomy light., and the breakfast buffet was one of the poorest I have ever had. At a price of NOK 1.399 per night you should certainly expect more - even in Norway.
