Obviously, the travel was off-season so that the price was lower than most travellers would probably get. Not sure I would feel as positive as I do, if I had - say - paid twice the rate or more.
Having said that, the hotel left little to be desired. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms well appointed, clean (though not perfectly clean - one did see the odd water stain or plume of dust, and maintenance was sloppy here or there), and quiet (although one could hear other guests more than one would like to). Among the best features were very comfy beds and wooden window shutters which made for some excellent sleep. The hotel overall has charme and atmosphere. As far as hotels in Italy go, I was more than satisfied with it. Lovely little place in a nice little town. Very good base for travelling the surrounds (and that includes Rome) by car.
