This is a typical Tuscan agriturismo that produces olive oil and wine and offers 3 appartments for either 2, 4 or 6/8 tourist. The owners live right on the grounds. Great value for family vacations!
We enjoyed lazing at the pool that provided ample seating in the sun or shade and was only shared with 2 other families. As an extended family of 6 we rented the largest appartment with 3 very large bedrooms and 2 baths. This one also has access to the private roof terrace where we spent many evenings drinking the local wine and enjoying the sunset. We purchased wine and olive oil at very reasonable prices from the owners.
The accommodations are rated 2** and delivered a lot for that. Don't expect luxeries but comfortable and clean bedrooms and linens, a servicable kitchen and a clean pool (though maybe a bit too much chlorine in it). It is self-catering so bring your own food stuff and toilet paper. These are not brand new accommodations so occasionally things my not work. But simply tell the owners and they will do their best to fix the problem. We woke up one day without hot water around and the problem was fixed within hours.
The owners are friendly, speak a little English and will help out in a pinch. We were preparing pizza to be fired in the traditional stone oven in the yard and ran out of flour. No problem, the owner just gave us a some from her stock. They also gave us some great recommendations for restaurants near by that provided excellent food and service for very reasonable prices. We ended up cooking fewer meals ourselves than we had expected ;-)
The location requires a car but is very central to many sites in Tuscany. Shopping can be done at the coop in Tavarnelle, about 4 km away. Barberino Val d'Elsa is a quaint small town with nice restaurants in the walled city only 10 minutes away. Florence, Siena, St Gimigniano are all less than an hour away.
