We stayed in Hotel Palazzo Failla for 2 days in January 2012 and it was an unforgettable experience! It is a restored barocco palazzo with antique furniture, incredibly painted ceilings and historic floors. But what impressed us most of all is the service - the personnel was extremely friendly and helpful - they parked our car, made coffee for us when the cafe which is part of the hotel was already closed, helped with all our needs. Unfortunately, their Michelin starred restaurant was closed, but we enjoyed their trattoria (La Locanda del Colonnello) - the food was very good for a reasonable price. We liked the hotel and Modica city so much that are already thinking about coming back next year.

We stayed at the Palazzo Failla hotel for 2 nights in January 2012 and enjoyed it tremendously. The accomodation was superb, the facilities excellent and the room large , clean and well furnished. The hotel blends in with the baroque charms of Modica and is well situated , although some what difficult to find the first time. However the staff were exceedingly helpful, the facilities superb , great help with parking our car in the narrow streets and overall everybodycould not have been more helpful . The ownwes were most kind and the food in the Locamda del Colonello restaurant was very good value and imaginative as were the breakfasts. All in all a great place to stay and maximum marks all round!!

Had a lovely one-night stay in this hotel last autumn. Room was fairly small but very nice, in traditional old-sicilian style. Had really thoughful, personal touches...for example whilst we were out at dinner someone had put out homemade chocoaltes on the bedside and slippers ready on each side of the bed! L'occtaine hotel toilettries also a nice touch.

Keep in mind this hotel, tucked away just off a small square, is in 'high' Modica, or Modica alta, so it's a bit of steep walk back up from the main shopping/restaurant street.

Driving around the narrow hairpin streets is a fun experience - parking is apparently tricky although we managed to tuck our car into a spot just 2 streets away. The hotel also offers to park your car for you, they have an underground facility at an extra cost (around €10-12/night).

Rooms themselves are in a wonderful old-fashioned apartment style entrance. Staff very friendly and helpful (aske for driving directions) and speak excellent English. We didn't eat in the highly-esteemed restaurant there but breakfast was a delight, including some lovely cheeses (if you can stomach them first thing) and fresh breads.

Would definitely stay again.

We stopped at Palazzo Failla for 2 nights. The rooms are large, the beds very comfortable with great extra pillows available in the room. The decor is in tune with the nice baroque atmosphere of the town. All personnel and the owners at the hotel are extremely kind, willing to help and truly nice people. The place to stay when in the region, they also have a great restaurant but we could not try it, next time. Will certainly go back.
