The hotel is undoubtedly in a very central position in the old town and is nicely laid out with a good roof terrace and nice decor. We did have some problems though. Our room was an internal one and had no proper window, only one opening onto a communal area in the hotel with frosted glass making it feel dark and slightly oppresive. It also had a room above it and the sound insulation between the rooms meant that whatever happened in the room above us was very audible to us. This is not so bad during the day, but at all hours of the night it is a bit of a pain and kept is awake as we seemd to have party people above us. We asked to be moved after the first night but the staff claimed that they had to refer to some central booking people who apparently said we could not move despite their being several other empty rooms in the hotel. Very frustrating.
There was never any hot water in the morning, again very frustrating, and 3 times the water stopped totally. It was usually fixed fairly quickly but once again very frustrating and not really acceptable for a 4* hotel.
The "hotel" does not really have the facilities to call itself a hotel. It has no bar, no room service and is really a B&B. It has that impersonal feel of a corporate run hotel.
