“Could not get any better!”

I'm counting the days until I can return the Grand Hotel Costa Brada. Seriously it could not get any better. First we arrived after our long roadtrip with it being night time already and upon entering the hotel, an white owl flew above our heads! It was amazing- out of a Harry Potter movie. We enter, greeted warmly, and are told "sometimes you just get lucky" and given an upgrade into a suite! Whaaaaat?! In this economy, not even for my wedding honeymoon did I get upgraded for FREE and I was paying that hotel oodles to host my event, so to be told here at this beautiful resort hotel on a weekend no less, upgrade, it was heavenly. I looked my husband in the eye begging, please let us stay here forever :)
Our suite was stunning. A giant picture window/door with a balcony/porch overlooked the blue waters of the Mediterranean. The Bathroom was giant with a spa shower head and jacuzzi tub, his/her sinks, and a REAL blowdryer- the kind a stylist uses.
We ordered room service for dinner that night and had some yummy local pasta dishes with fish. perfect, simple, delightful and yes they came on the glorious silver trays. classy.
Breakfast was lovely and yummy. The hotel is the day is even more beautiful and classy, with its marble floors and big windows throughout its lobby and areas.
We walked outside to the beach, its winter but it was warm and gorgeous. The hotel also has this beautiful garden area to stroll along, I can only imagine in the summer how perfect this spot would be, as the winter it was marvelous!
I guess the travel gods were with us for this trip but Costa Brada really made the better.
Don't miss the adorable town of Gallipoli and definitely stay here.

“Lovely hotel, right on the beach”

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were welcoming and polite and always ready to answer questions... even rang around local newsagents to try to get us an English newspaper. The room was clean, well furnished and had a small balcony with a sea view. The hotel is situated right by its own private beach. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and the evening meal was delicious. The indoor pool was a bonus, as was the use of the gym and outdoor pool. Will look forward to another stay at this hotel.

“beautiful”

We wanted a treat to celebrate the New Year and that's what we got.

Modern , comfortable rooms with sea views and a little balcony We had a little bottle of the local wine in our room upon arrival. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms and plenty of room.
The next day we received a little wrapped Italian cake as a New Year's gift. These little touches really made us feel cared about and welcome, even though I am sure we were the only foreigners there....all Italian tourists and that's good sign!

We were right on the pristine beach and were walking along it on New Year's day, shirt sleeves rolled up and totally alone.
Gallopoli is a beautiful sight from the hotel and take just a couple of minutes to get there via the cab driver , Antonio...He charged northern European prices, though.

The food here is top-notch. The two chefs, (also named Antonio) created beautiful local food . The breakfasts were great with freshly made -by- Antonio local breads and cakes. There is a little pizzeria on site that had great pizza to take to your room or eat there. We were greeted each morning with sculptures carved out of melons and were truly works of art. The locals were taking pictures of them.

There is a beautiful garden next to the hotel , an indoor and outdoor pool . Can't wait to come here in the Spring or Fall when the weather would be swimable.

The front desk were helpful with any questions we had and we were greeted by everyone from the bar staff to the porters.

Truly a wonderful stay!

  • Liked — prefessional, caring
  • Disliked — balconies too small to sit out
