“The highlight of our Italian vacation.”

We spent 4 nites at this beautiful B&B after 4 nites in Siena and 3 in Rome. This experience was wonderful, in great part because of the owner/host, Dwight, a US ex-pat and former surgeon from the midwest. Every aspect of this B&B was excellent...it's a redecorated, restored facility in an extremely quiet and private area with panoramas abounding. Dwight cooked every breakfast and we were fortunate to have him join us for a few dinners, which he also cooked. He allowed us to sample his exceptional wine. And we sampled some more. And more.

Dwight took us on several deluxe tours (hey, he even drove our rented car) to nearby towns and to view an olive oil production. We also visited his winery (under construction) and received wine-making tips.

The weather was cool and a bit rainy so we were not able to enjoy the pool and we didn't eat outside. There was plenty of warmth inside, however. Several times we walked along a road/path to view the beautiful landscapes and the vibrant splashes of orange and red vine leaves.

Dwight's command of Italian seemed to be great; he communicated freely with the locals and gave us many helpful travel hints. We hope to return in a few years, when Dwight's wine operation will be in full swing.

The location was wonderful! I had an amazing experience at this B & B. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Delicious homemade jams and breads. All and all a fabulous experience.

“Comfy, cozy, warm, and wonderful!”

How many times do you visit a place and when you leave you think to yourself, "Boy, I'd really like to come back here." Well, that's what we thought last summer when we visited Nascondiglio. The ancient stone B&B is surrounded by 360 degrees of beauty and silence. It had a strong pull on us, and yes, we DID go back during our recent one month visit to Italy. Dwight and Raffaele, and of course Bacco, welcomed us even though we showed up two days before they expected us!! We were thrilled and surprised to see their huge new winery, complete with their own private crane doing the work. Dwight showed us the winery and we were amazed at the vision they have for producing top quality wine in Le Marche and making Nascondiglio a "destination spot." I sure hope they save space for us, because once the winery is in full swing, coupled with the beauty of the location, the ambience of the B&B, the warmth and friendliness of hosts Bacco, Dwight, and Raffaele, I'm thinking this place is never going to have an opening!! This is the TRUE Italy. . .gently rolling hills covered with vineyards and olive trees, farmers in the distance plowing or harvesting olives, and a gentle rhythm to each day. Our four days here were a respite for us after 3 weeks of daily travelling.

Nearby is Ascoli Piceno, a great place for shopping and eating, not to mention spectacular churches. Be sure to visit Offida and especially the ladies at the lace-making cooperative. It's an ancient art and one of only a handful of places worldwide where this type of lace is produced. The seaside towns of Grottamare and San Benedetto are a brief 35 minute ride for great sand and seafood. And just 5 minutes away in Borgo Miriam are the best little restaurants you've ever experienced. Get the freshly made potato chips at La Mattra.

We'll be back. . .for sure!

“Perfect way to unwind after touring Italy”

We had been doing the "whirlwind" tour of Italy for 10 days and spent our last 2 1/2 days winding down here. What a wonderful spot to just enjoy life. The breathtaking landscape is out of a Hollywood movie. The owners are your best friends and of course, Bacco is in charge ! The area food and culture is just unbelievable. Truly, there are only a very few spots that one can call majestic, but after watching the sunrise and sunsets here, you realize you have been blessed to find one of them.

“picture postcard setting”

A perfect spot to experience the Marche countryside. Perched on top of a hill overlooking the surrounding vineyards and orchards. Wonderful scenery and sunsets. Great place to us as a base to explore the small Italian villages in the area as well as the Adriatic coast. We enjoyed this part of our trip more than our time in Florence and Rome. The co-owners, which include a local Italian and an American physician, were a great resource combination. We had the best food and wine of our entire trip at restaurants they suggested. We hope to return next year and by pass the big cities altogether.
