We spent 4 nites at this beautiful B&B after 4 nites in Siena and 3 in Rome. This experience was wonderful, in great part because of the owner/host, Dwight, a US ex-pat and former surgeon from the midwest. Every aspect of this B&B was excellent...it's a redecorated, restored facility in an extremely quiet and private area with panoramas abounding. Dwight cooked every breakfast and we were fortunate to have him join us for a few dinners, which he also cooked. He allowed us to sample his exceptional wine. And we sampled some more. And more.
Dwight took us on several deluxe tours (hey, he even drove our rented car) to nearby towns and to view an olive oil production. We also visited his winery (under construction) and received wine-making tips.
The weather was cool and a bit rainy so we were not able to enjoy the pool and we didn't eat outside. There was plenty of warmth inside, however. Several times we walked along a road/path to view the beautiful landscapes and the vibrant splashes of orange and red vine leaves.
Dwight's command of Italian seemed to be great; he communicated freely with the locals and gave us many helpful travel hints. We hope to return in a few years, when Dwight's wine operation will be in full swing.
