The good:
Albergo Arena has the feeling of a family run establishment. I actually think it is. It is a small outfit, but the rooms are spacious by Euro standards. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was just as good as any of the five star hotels we stayed at. The location is good for seeing the city of Macerata, and is close to the Sferisterio (Opera House) if you are there for that in late summer. There are several restaurants, a bakery, and a gelateria nearby.
The bad:
It was hard for us to find at first. When walking up the hill from the new part of the city, the sign is on the wall facing people who would be walking down the hill. So look back as you are walking up. Once we found it though, it was easy to navigate back to.
I studied in Macerata, so if you have questions or need tips, please feel free to contact me.
