The website promised us a swimming pool, a nice garden, a terrace and parking for our car. None of these were present. As a matter of fact, there wasn't anyone to let us in when we arrived. We had to ask the owner of the swimming pool further down the street if he had a telephone number so we could call the owner of Residence L'Incanto.
After half an hour, his sister showed up. I must say she was very friendly, and not surprised at all when we told her we did not want to stay (although we had booked 5 days in advance via the website). It wasn't the first time she had seen people who were disappointed by what they saw. If you want a nice holiday, do not book this residence without swimming pool, terrace, or garden view (we had 1 window: it was facing the street aka the "parcheggio").

We did something we never do...

We went to the same place two summers in a row! Residence L'Incanto in Piano de Sorrento is absolutely breathtaking, reasonably priced, clean, and family run (Hats off to Antonio and his sister!). It is comprised of eight to ten apartments which have access to beautiful terraces overlooking the Sorrentino coastline. Some of the apartments are even lucky enough to have a private terrace. There is an amazing pool about 200m up the road which overlooks the coastline as well. There are many smaller beaches in the area that are perfect for children learning to swim. There's a family run grocery store at the start of the turn-off for the house with lots of goodies to eat. Make sure that you know where to turn off; it is easy to miss. Watch for the signs! A car is necessary, but well worth it.

After we leaved a four star hotel in Sorrento because of some problems with the reservation, we arrived at Residence L'Incanto. I made the reservation through Internet, in two hours we had the keys and everything was OK. The room was beautiful, very new and clean. The pool is 100 meters away and very beautiful and for the ones who prefer the sea, the beach is 15 minutes away by car. You can find parking spots on the street. But what I liked the most was the terrace, at the last level of the building. From there you have a magnificent view of both the sorrentine coast and the gulf of Naples. I was very satisfied with the staying at L'Incanto and I would come next year also.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Residence L'Incanto. The two bedroom apartment was great; nice and tidy and we really appreciated the air conditioning with the hot weather. Having a kitchen also made preparing light meals and snacks very easy. Our three children really enjoyed the swimming pool access and it made for a great diversion after a day of touring around. (the swimming pool is a semi-public pool 100 metres up the road from the Residence) Antonio and his family were very welcoming and helpful in getting us settled.

The Residence is perched near to the top of the hill above Sorrento, affording fantastic views from the appartment's beautiful terrace. The location, however, means that it is best accessed by car. The side streets are a bit steep and narrow. (A warning to users of GPS navigation units; the GPS unit will typically select the shortest route which will take you up a very narrow and very steep road which I believe is best avoided unless you are experienced in driving on such streets. Its best to take a longer route on wider, easier streets.)
