After leaving Real Palace Hotel staying only six days out of what should have been ten days but due to the bad service rip off prices for air con food and safety deposit key which was usless due to money still giong missing and the very aggresive bar man Costa. we found the loverly freindly family run hotel Malia Mare for the last four days of our stay, they were so understanding and caring and most important very fair with their prices, it only cost us 150 euros to stay there for four days three nights. they allowed me to phone uk for free to contact my family to let them know we were all ok. our flight was a early morning flight and they let us stay in the room for free because they were no futher bookings for the room the next day. The Hotel Manager said he doesnt have a problem with young people staying there as long as they respect other guess staying there, the family was very kind to young responsible teens. I just wish we were there from day one

Me and my friends (6 girls) had an amazing time staying here - it's right on the strip so not far at all to the clubs at night and just seemed to be in a perfect location - for example it was a short walk to the beach, supermarkets, restaraunts, clubs and bars and also A + E! (helfpul). Rooms are cleaned every day and nothing ever went missing from our rooms. The staff are friendly and were helpful. The pool is amazing and has a small jacuzzi-like area - there is also a very convenient pool bar where you swim up and can order food/drinks all day! And you don't even have to pay there and then - you just pay later. The hotel was very clean and great to stay in!

It's the worst hotel I have ever been, even can't call it "hotel" - poor bed & breakfast. For 2 weeks, every day the same breakfast: ham, cheese, cold boiled egg, jam, toast or cereals.
Owner of hotel is family, who don't know how to run bussines and what people want. They are not helpfull at all, and an old lady looks at you as you killed her family. Don't eat too much for breakfast! she watches you.
Rooms are VERY basic. No soap/shampoo in bathroom, you have to have your own. Chamber maid comes to room when has time, not more than twice a week, floor is never mopped/hoovered. No hair dryer, TV, tea/coffee facility, air con for extra fee (very expensive), 50 year old, always leaking fridge in room.
Because hotel is in city centre always is so much noise in rooms, during night as well.
In my opinion it could be good place only for people who don't spend too much time in hotel and don't have high expectation. I can't remember even 1 thing which I liked in this place. Terrible.

Malia mare hotel was in a great location on the doorstep of locals shops and at the top of the main strip this made it very easy to come and go from the hotel as we please. it is only a 5 minute walk from the beach. I stayed at the hotel in the busyiest season however i found it quite a quiet hotel considering. i dont know about the breakfasts there because i was never up in time. The cleaner comes regularly and the room is cleaned to a good standard, however she had let her self into our room twice when we did not answer the door to find us asleep in bed which i wasnt to happy about. The hotel itself is very nice better maintained than most hotels in malia.
