I'll start off with the positives... The location was brilliant, right on the Malia strip, you walk through a bar called the ice bar to get onto the strip which has good drink deals, to the right, you can take a short walk to old malia which has a beautiful restaurant once you pass through small streets there's also a spar and to the left is a street full of amazing clubs and restaurants. As expected the air conditioning cost 50 euros for the week and the safe was 15 euros for the week, between me and my friend that was around 32.5 euros each which is good because the safe is reasonably sized and inside a cupboard and the air conditioning is positioned high on the wall, has various speed/temperature settings and can be put on all night so you have a comfortable sleep. The reps are lovely and really enthusiastic for you to have a great holiday, they offer activities, however we decided to do our own thing because I'd heard bad reviews and that they're not worth the money, although videos of the activities were played on the last day whilst waiting for our transfer bus which was entertaining for the few waiting hours and actually looked quite enjoyable!
From outside the hotel looked really appealing and promising, there were plenty of places to sit, computers, a bar, food, small swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers, reception and a security guard.
The hotel itself inside however is such a disappointment, we were careful enough not to damage anything, a few doors for the cupboards were clearly soon coming off their hinges so we opted not to use them at all, the shower curtain pole had snapped at the side therefore the shower curtain was never used just in case, you get a tv but it doesn't get a signal ect.
When we first arrived we went around our room with a pen a piece of paper and wrote down every single visible damage down and handed it into reception as we noticed that the charges for damages was outrageous so we weren't taking any chances of being charged for things we didn't do (these damages actually took up a double sided piece of paper).
we seen the maid two or three times out of our seven night stay, she did regularly change our bins, but the bed sheets weren't changed once at all and we made sure we were out of bed before 12 because there's a leaflet saying they won't clean after that time, the floor was swept once the whole stay therefore our feet turned black after several minutes of walking on the floor, we received one roll of toilet roll to do us for the week and afterwards had to buy our own.
The receptionist was hardly ever there, the security guard was reasonably friendly however when there were a group of boys making excessive noise at 6/7am after coming in from a night out., he done nothing about it therefore we were kept up all night with shouting, slamming doors, whistles, singing and then people who obviously were staying in the opposite room shouting offensive abuse at the boys. We had planned to wake up early that morning to spend the whole day at the beach which was ruined because we got next to no sleep.
One of the days I was getting ready by the mirror and felt a tickling at my feet and when i looked down I noticed loads of tiny tiny little ants running by the crease in the wall, which obviously, we had to kill ourselves as there was no reception to ask for help.
On the last day just before going onto our transfer bus, i made a dash to the poolside toilet which i hadn't yet used and discovered there was no male/female toilets, they were unisex and there was also no toilet roll, soap or hand dryer, great way to depart from a hotel! (sarcasm)
Oh forgot to mention, they take your passports off you when you check in and give you them back once they make sure you haven't damaged anything, which if you have damaged something and refuse to pay, they'll keep your passports and get the police involved, this information was also written on a letter inside our room.
