Stayed at the Frixos Hotel in June 2011 for 7 nights. At first I wasnt to sure about this accommodation as we were transferred from another hotel due to the company we travelled with lost the contract, but it turned out to be a great choice! It has a great location just off the main malia strip which is perfect for quiet days around the pool and hectic nights in Malia town!
Yes the accommodation is basic, but most people staying here, are after the nightlife not 5* accommodation.
Staff were great and couldnt do enough for you. Good choice of food from pool bar and cheap.

We stayed on bed & breakfast, which was typical greek breakfast....dont be expecting any fry-ups unless your going to pay at the pool bar, we were in the main hotel which was fine, rooms good size. We managed to see a self catering apartment which were huge so much better if there is a large group going but i believe all of the self catering apartments are in the annex block, but its not exactly a far walk.... All in all a great week in Malia, wouldnt hesitate to use this as a base if we were to go again!!!

There was a rat in our room and cockroaches everywhere! The maids stole my mates shoes and he had no shoes for the whole week! The shower didnt work so we couldnt have a decent wash for a week.

Overall, our holiday was amazing this year to Malia! We stayed at the Hotel Frixos, they offer hotels and appartments which we were in the appartments which I highly recommed as it is in a great location as it is right on the strip just tucked down a little road but that can be quite scary to walk back down especially if you were alone, but there are secuirty people who stand in the street in lumious jackets which make it feel safer. The rooms are basic but that's fine as they only get messy. The local supermarket is very close which is good as carry heavy bottles of water and food in the heat isn't too fun, and there is a smaller shop just at the top of the hotel which is handy for little odd bits. The drinks at the hotel bar aren't too nice we only drank them there once on our first night as we felt rude not too, we were given a pina colada with orange juice (yuck) didn't really try the food only had chips once, ate out mostly as the restruants were so near and the staff throughout the whole strip from lunch to clubs were so friendly. The pool area has a great atmosphere with party music constantly playing and the bar staff are happy to play recomendations & turn the volume up!! Overall I would give the hotel a 8.5/10 the atmosphere throughout the whole holiday (hotel & strip) a 10! The strip a 8.5/10. The people you're with a the people you meet are what make your holiday!!

just got back from crete nice place but ruined by the frixos hotel the rooms are the most disgusting places you could imagine i would not let a dog stay there the pictures on line and in brochures are nothing like the place its up a back dark street the shower leaked all over the apartment the terrace had no view it was so unclean the beds made us itch more and more each day and in one week the towels and beds were made and changed just once
