we stayed at stelios apartments in may 06 for our honeymoon,what a fab place,clean,, friendly staff,Andreas and all his staff make your stay the best they can,his bingo nights are a must[what a laugh].We will certainly be going back.

We went here on a girlie holiday. The room is basic, some rooms are very basic, we were lucky to get a nicer one. Although we visited 12 months later and they were building a new block so not sure what they are like.

It's a family run business and we did feel we were being constantly watched and had to be on our best behaviour, which is not what you want when you are young and just want to go wild. We also had to be very careful in our room, they inspect the rooms and you WILL be charged for loss or damage. The food was brilliant though, really good.

Old town Malia was lovely and is only 5-10 minute walk from all the bars and clubs. I would definately reccomend staying just that furhter out.

My wife and I stayed at the Stelios Apartments in Malia Old Town in the middle of October 2005.
The new town is very brash and commercial, catering for the "alcohol with everything, anytime" tourists but the old quarter, inland of the main road, is quiet and more in tune with a traditional Crete.
The apartments themselves were basic (concrete Cretian beds with a single mattress) but comfortable in all the essentials. The staff were pleasant and co-operative and Leda, the young lady running the business, a pleasure to talk to and be with.
The nicest restaurant (of those still open in October) was that of Stablos and Elisabeth just around the corner from the apartments. We dined very well whilst sat a table on the balcony overlooking the square. Would happily return to Crete, Stelios and the restaurant.
