Me and 6 other mates went malia, we stayed at LU ELLEN, it was the best decision we made !! the supermarket downstairs! AC for 5euros a night, STRIP LESS THEN 5 MINS AWAY!, WHAT MORE DO UNEED ? security guard is a nice man, just stay on the good side of him! and also have to be quiet after 11.
I would recomend this hotel to anyone who goes malia!

If you are going to Malia for clubbing, then I would seriously recommend this hotel.
we were a bit sceptical about this hotel because we hadn't seen many reviews on it, and t he ones we had seen were not very promising but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised.

It is located literally 2-3 minutes from the top of the strip, but the area is quiet so you don't get the noise from drunken yobs, except those staying there.

When we were there, it was all students staying at the apartments.

The owner, who works in the minimarket downstairs, is a genuine person and is very helpful, whenever we needed any help, he was the first person we went to, and he could understand and talk English very well.

The rooms were average size.

Noise was not allowed after 11pm, but the security guard wasn't too strict, he would just come to the room, talk to us generally, and then politely tell us to keep the noise down a bit.

Overall, definitely a good place to stay, and much better than other hotels that we saw.

I would stay here if I ever go to Malia again.

Lu Ellen Apartments was the perfect choice for our group of 20 year olds going to Malia to club.

Good Points:

- Literally about 3-5 minute walk to the clubbing strip/restaurants/bars/town centre.
- Clean place compared to the other hotels we saw when there
- Really nice, friendly, and genuine owner -- was very helpful with helping us rent out quads, AC, directions
- The AC is a 100% requirement. It cost 5 euros a night...worked like a charm.
- The pool/bar area is amazing. It had a huge 50" tv, a nice bar (slightly overpriced drinks, and a wicked swimming pool.
- The security guard, Nicholas. Such a cool guy...if you go there and he's still there, ask him how the Absinthe was; with love from London.
- The rates we got were very cheap! Definitely value for money.
- Good room sizes.

Negative points:

- Noise curphew at 11pm. You can still make reasonable noise, just can't go completely nuts with the volume. However, like I said, the security guard was cool...it wasn't much of an issue.


If I was going back to Malia (unlikely since there are many other places on the list still to go)...this is where I would stay no doubt.

Conveniently located- only a few minutes walk from bus stop, taxis, bars, clubs, shops and restaurants. Mini market on the ground floor. Friendly staff. Generally, our room had pretty much everything we needed.
