“Far away from everything”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

My daughter, 11 years and I had decided to take a weekend trip to relax, shop and have some nice food to eat, and enjoy the last of the summer and this hotel looked like the place to go. We were excited because it was a resort and spa hotel, which we haven't tried before. When we arrived at the airport we went to get a taxi, but suddenly there were 4 taxidrivers discussing where this place was, and one of them told me that it would take at least 30 min. to get there. Well we had no choice, so of we went, up and up and up of the mountain.. Finally and 75 euro's we were there, it was a bit difficult to find the way to the reception. When we checked inn the receptionist told us that we weren't allowed to use the spa-facilities because my daughter was to young - DAMM....
The room was very nice with a large balcony and a beautiful view over the mountain. The next day we had reserved a bus to drive us to the city, but the bus was 1 hour late and I have never ever met a bus driver that drove so aggressive and he was SO rude!!
We came back and had dinner at the hotel, and that were ok, but they had many things at the menu that they could not serve.
Next day we decided to take a day at hotel, to play some tennis, swim in the pool and relax, but it was expensive to use the tennis courts and the pool was not headed so it were to cold to swim.
We then decided to leave this hotel and we booked another hotel in Nice..
All in all I would not recommend this place if you don't have a car, and if you want to relax with your children.

“Nice sporting facilities, but overrated as a 4*hotel!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

Nice sporting facilities, but expensive (€ 12,50-€15 p/h for tennis/squash). Nice location but difficult to find and in the middle of nowhere, you need a car to get around. Clean, good size swimming pool & fittness room, but it would have been nice if there had been pool towels or water fountain (4*??). Rooms are very sober and face the mountains (even the ones that are sold with sea view!). Ammenities are supplied at arrival, but don't expect them to be refilled. No elavator available (rooms on 1st floor), no bar, minibar or room service. (the "hotel bar" they advertise is no more than a coffee machine (€4,- per cup) and a vending machine. Restaurant is terrible. Several bad dishes but the worst experience was the kids dish: bad enough that you burn nuggets, but serving them out as a 4*??? And as a family of 4 we were not only split into 2 different rooms (fair enough) but in 2 diiferent buildings. We were told only upon arrival that adjacient rooms could be arranged for but at an additional cost :(

“Loved our stay and look forward to the next.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

We have just returned from a week at the Sunset Resort and Spa. We hired a vehicle at Nice Airport put the address into the Satnav and had no trouble finding it. There were six of us and when we arrived all our rooms were ready. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very nice and exceptionally clean as was the bathroom It seemed to us that the bedding was changed everyday. The staff were all so helpful. Breakfast was great with everything you could wish for in a continental breakfast. We only ate dinner in the hotel twice and couldn't fault it. The setting of the dining terrace is really beautiful overlooking the swimming pool. The only thing we would have liked was a refrigerator in the room. It was nice to have coffee and tea facilities, though. You definately need a car when you are there. We all would really recommend the hotel and really look forward to our next stay.

“sporty, but expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2009

We were disappointed on arrival to find that we could not be admitted to our room before the 3pm deadline even though the hotel was very quiet. Also, we found that all the sporting facilities we had come for had to be paid for as extras which was very expensive. Our room was very small as it was described as quadruple and we were very cramped with the three of us. Also, no kettle or drinking facilities of any kind in the room. We did have an enjoyable stay, but quite a few things could be improved. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly.

“Strange but lovely - Jim and Julie Torquay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2009

Very strange layout and difficult to find as described by other tripadvisors, however lovely location and very relaxing. Food was good and terrace overlooking pool with views of sea in distance lovely. Rooms were clean and comfortable with balconies. We were on a tour of the south of france with our own car but without a car this place would be very difficult to get out of!

Would stay here again
