“Paradise in Provence!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

After many hours searching for a holiday let in Provence we came across the "Domaine de Conilliers". We've had a few bad experiences in the past with bookings on internet so were a little nervous about what we would find. We arrived late in the afternoon and Philippe was there to welcome us, we immediately fell in love with this incredible place. We spent 2 weeks in the 200 year old Gite "La Bastide", we had a beautiful view from our garden of the Saint Baume and an olive grove. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. Philippe speaks perfect English and was extremely helpful as far as organizing our day trips and tours was concerned. There are so many things to do and see in the region or just spend days lounging by the pool, going for bike rides or hikes in the surrounding countryside. This is the place l would recommend for anyone wanting to visit Provence.

“The perfect combination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

For the third time we returned to Conillieres. Every year we stayed in a different gîte.
All the gîtes are decorated with style, very Provence like.
If we had to make a choice, Bastide is our favorite one.

To describe the domain in two words: stunningly quiet.
On a hot summer's day you take a refreshing dive into the lovely swimming pool.

Philippe the host, really thinks about everything.
He's the host everyone dreams about.

As mentioned by the other reviewers, the WiFi is also a big plus.

Our conclusion: We simply can't get enough!

“Provencal charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2010

We loved staying in this 'tucked away' corner of Provence. Phillipe is very welcoming and is a very useful source of local (and International) information. It feels like a privilige to be staying in such a genuine "Domaine" with all the peace and nature that such a rural location can offer. Gorgeous!

“Experience true Provence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2010

We stayed here for 6 days, and I was afraid it'd be too long a time because when we usually travel it's a three days per city. Turns out, we could have stayed 2 weeks at this place.

It's in the country side and you truly feel like you are getting away and experience true Provence. Just the hikes from the backyard to the river, you can see vineyards, herbs growing, and ducks flying on the river -- a taste of true Provence. Half your days could be going to see the sights, the other half could be truly savoring and relaxing during your vacation. Philippe had a nice book of what to do in the area that could fill a week, but the place really forces you to wind down (and we're both type A).

We stayed at L'Oranger which was a little cold, but we dealt with it by keeping the bathroom door closed (it was exposed to outside air), heaters on, and curtains closed. It was a little musty for my partner whose very sensitive to mold/spores, but you are surrounded by nature, so it's to be expected.

“a week at Domaine de Conillieres is just what the doctor ordered!”

after my trip to Domaine de Conillieres, I ran into my "face doctor" .... She took one look at me and her first question was "Have you been doing Botox without me!!!?"

THAT is how relaxing my trip was. It took all the creases out of my forehead!

I stayed in The Patio with two friends... it was a week in heaven.
We were there the last week in October, so there were no crowds.
Philippe was a wonderful host and the stay was unforgettable.
We took a hike to the Grotto of Mary Magdalene, which was incredible.
There is so much we wanted to see in the area, but the grounds were so peaceful, I wound up spending two days lounging by the pool.

We opted for a Garmin GPS when we rented the car in Aix, and it took us right there in the dark of night.... not sure we would have found it without the GPS!
