“Great place, wonderful owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Stayed two nights here and had a great time. The owners are very welcoming and helped us a lot navigating the sights in the area -- Sillans la Cascade, Abbaye du Thoronet, and the Sainte Rosaline Chapel in Les Arcs. We enjoyed our breakfasts on the terrace of the owners, it was a wonderful way to start the day, loved the homemade jams. Our room was clean and featured art works from local artists.

“Lovely Home in a Lovely Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

La Radassiere is the most charming place, located in the middle of an olive grove. Our room was spacious, clean and wonderfully decorated with various artworks from local artists. The couple who owns the place is hospitable and warm, and I loved eating breakfast on their veranda every morning under their grapevines. Just be warned that the town of Cotignac is a 5-10 minute drive, and is not really walkable. This did not end up being an issue for us, but it was a bit of a surprise so if you intend to stay at the town you may want to consider another spot.

“NOT TO MISS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

What a bright idea I had to end up our stay in France with this B&B!

For those who read my review on “Les Cyprès” in Contes, “La Radassière” is exactly the opposite.
It is ideal for a “real” holiday.

David and I spent five nights there, from Sept. 4th to 8th inclusive.

The bedrooms are far from the owners’ house, i.e. you are totally independent.

Besides, the four of them are in the middle of their huge and lovely property, planted with olive trees, quince trees, prickly pears, etc., all taken well care of, by Richard.

The bedroom we had was spacious: a big room and a mezzanine with a single bed.

The room itself is well equipped with a wardrobe and a little cupboard with shelves, one table, two armchairs, a worktop, a fridge, air con and a television.
Adjacent to the bedroom, there is a little private terrace with a table and four chairs.

At the head of the bed, a big window (which does not open) overlooks a small garden which is private too, with two sun loungers. You access the garden through the terrace.

The garden as well as the terrace are well isolated from the neighbours thanks to hedges.

We did not take advantage of it, but the swimming pool is splendid and… also WELL maintained!
Situated amongst trees, it is very pleasant.

For breakfast, you have fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, toasts, fresh bread, wholemeal bread, croissants, home-made jams, a choice between boiled and fried egg. As to the drinks, orange juice and… unlimited coffee or tea (“normal” or green tea).

Both owners are charming and full of humour! Unlike some (…), they do not “run away” from their guests but by the same token they are not intrusive.

They are so friendly that Maryse and I ended up saying “tu” to each other. Regarding breakfast, it lasted over two hours every morning because we were so busy chatting!

Just to sum up, if you intend to visit the area, do not hesitate. You will receive a warm welcome and the B&B is worth it.

Last but not least, Cotignac is a nice little town.

Room Tip: Room Nº1 is the one pictured.

“Wonderful return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2010

We stayed at la Radassiere for the second time, and found it even better than we remembered. Our room, with a mezzanine floor, was large and comfortable with an excellent bathroom, and opened onto a sunny private terrace. We loved the eclectic but stylish decor. Breakfasts on Richard and Maryse's terrace were fresh, simple, and a relaxing way to start the day.Cotignac is a delightful village within easy walking distance, and dining at Les Tables de la Fontaine is a must!

Maryse and Richard Artaud of La Radassiere are warm and friendly hosts who have both lived in Cotignac their whole lives. They have built a lovely 4 room unit on their property for guests among the olive groves. There is a covered terrace complete with a table, chairs, and refrigerator for your use.Breakfast is served on the terrace of their home just up the hill with beautiful views of the of the surrounding groves.

The bathrooms are lovely and even included a heater for chilly mornings. Our room had a loft with an additional bed for an
extra person if needed.La Radassiere is located just outside of town but within 5 minutes of the wonderful market, charming restaurants and cafes.a very good location to visit the Var.
We were there in September and can hardly wait to return!
