Faultless; 2 older females from Australia. We stayed for a week to explore the area and were not disappointed. Perfect location, lovely garden, wonderful pool and hostess Francoise was utterly charming and very helpful. Bed excellent, slept well; a glorious quiet "retreat" to come back to each day. Do visit Isle sur La Souge and La Fontaine as well as Arles and the other more local towns. Would highly recommend la Bastide de Soubeyras to anyone seeking peace and quiet in luxurious surroundings. Lovely breakfasts; fancoise makes a great deal of jams etc. herself. there is an out-door "Summer kitchen" which is so useful, as one can cook etc for dinner, but Francoise also can recommend stunning local restaurants in which to dine. La Bastide de Soubeyras is a wonderful hilltop B&B in the heart of the Luberon. The setting which is only a couple of miles below Menerbes and only minutes from Gordes and Rousillon is fabulous with panoramic views over the Luberon valley. The owners, Yves and Francoise have restored this gorgeous stone home into a modern inn with all amenities. They serve a fine breakfast and are helpful with touring recommendations. We found it to be a good base for 4 days of touring from Arles and Avignon to the west to Apt and Lourmarin to the east. I would recommend it without reservation to anyone looking for an upscale accomodation in the Luberon.
