After a 5 hour journey in the car with the children and the in laws (!) we arrived in the lovely town of Barneville-Carteret, which is actually two towns linked by a small road. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our family room (children of 3 and 5 years) was huge and very nicely decorated. It looks like the hotel is very new indeed. Lots of cushions and wood flooring etc. There was no bath in the bathroom but a huge shower which was totally fine along with little bottles of shower gel, shampoo etc which was a nice touch. Dinner on the first night was very good indeed apart from a couple of flies settling on the desserts but I guess that was the weather! The TV in the room had BBC1,2, ITV and Channel 4 which wasnt bad going at all. Breakfast was a buffet affair and all very nice. There were times where the staff chose not to be as helpful such as one saying "no we dont have olives" even though the people sitting feet away had a bowl on their table. This didnt mar an otherwise great stay. Note that this hotel has no lift and my in laws had a room on the 3rd floor which was a little trying at times. A great hotel for families due to the pool with beach opposite, lovely boulangerie round the corner. This hotel is a 3* but i would give it close to 4.
