The rooms are very pleasant, roomy and bright but the food was very disappointing - restaurant had pretentious atmosphere but the food was very mediocre.

Charming little hotel run by friendly management in an attractive little town. Our room and bathroom overlooking the main square was sweet with antique touches. The drawback was that we were woken from 6am (on an August Tuesday) by considerable traffic, amplified by the otherwise charming cobblestones. At the time of writing the noise problem is particularly bad as there is construction work on the other side of the square from the hotel.

If you don't want to have breakfast in the hotel there is a good cafe open from 9.30 further up the square. And there's a terrific 1930s restaurant opposite the hotel, the Taverne Flamande.

Can really only echo previous reviews: a friendly, well located, well run, good value hotel. I would certainly not hesitate to stay at Le Foch if visiting Cassel again. My second floor room (steep stairs with a heavy bag!) overlooked the square and, while it's an old building and the decor could perhaps be updated, was perfectly good for a short stay. There are plenty of restaurants and bars on and around the square, in addition to the one on the ground floor of Le Foch.

We stayed here as part of visiting Arras for the Main Square Festival. The Grand Place street was very quaint and quiet. The hotel was tidy and clean, but the decor is quite tired. The local cafe/restaurants require you to speak a bit of French, so is great practice, not great if you forget your phrase book though! There is a lovely cafe overlooking the panoramic view to the South, which we recommend.

Breakfast is nice, but an extra on top of the room rate.
