The Akena City hotel on the edge Pezanas (about a mile from the town centre along a fast raod) is a basic but ultimately satisfying stop -over point. Simple, no nonsense hotel accomodation - comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, friendly staff and we left with a smile on our face. Breakfast is adequate and priced fairly, there is no bar or restaurant but the next door new-build Restaurant Essentiel ( you can just have a beer too) looked welcoming and pleasant albeit closed on Monday and closes too early for night owls. Our toilet cistern (room 210) was faulty and wouldn't stop running. The rooms are quite spartan and "well used" but that's not a critcism. All round just better than ok - equivalent to a decent Travelodge.

Akena City is located on the outskirts of the historic centre of Pezenas. The hotel itself are plain with nice rooms and a nice breakfast possibility. Yoiu need a car or a bike to get to the old city centre, so the location is not too good. The hotel is situated in an industry-area.

A clean, modern, purpose-built economy hotel. It is part of a chain of hotels which all seem to be designed for the low-end business traveller. They are usually outside the towns where low rentals keep the costs down. This one is in the middle of an industrial estate and about 2km from the town centre. There's not much to do nearby, and you really need a car.
