We stayed for two nights and received a very warm welcome from Alix and Henri who were wonderful hosts. The chateau was beautiful set in fabulous grounds. There was a great swimming pool which we used each day to cool down. Alix provided us each night with a recommendation for a restaurant each of which met or exceeded expectations.

On the last night we share aperitif's with Alix and Henri who proved that their English was substantially better than our 'pigeon' French! When we are next back in the Carcassone area we will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful mansion set in its own grounds, with small lake and swimming pool, about 10 minutes from the Cite Medievale at Carcassonne. We stayed in the charming Tower Room (accessed via the tower shown in the photograph). All possible amenities and good healthy breakfast to start the day. Extremely friendly hostess who made us feel most welcome and helped with all sorts of advice about where to go, what to see, maps, restaurants, and even made bookings for us. A lady of taste and elegance.

We are from Australia and recently on a visit to Carcassonne we booked into Domaine-de-Maran, a 10 minute drive from the city. We were very warmly welcomed by our hosts Alix and Henri. We shared a glass of local wine before we went to a fantastic resaurant for dinner - 5 miniutes drive away. The Maison has been in the one family for several generations and sits in a neat and spacious garden including a pool and large pond, The entrance and lounge is fresh white and decorated with well chosen antique French furniture. The bedroom was large with ensuite and a wonderful king size bed. No noise so ideal for sleeping. Breakfast was served in a light, fresh setting. We did enjoy meeting our hosts and would highly reccommend a stay here.

A perfectly clean and well laid out Gite with all you would expect for a self catering Gite. I could not fault a thing. Certainly a Gite I can recommend to anybody who is looking for a quiet but convenient location close to Carcassonne. John and Joanne from Australia
