“siply perfect, a real paradise!”

I decided to go to zanzibar suddenly and i found immedialy availability at Amaan Bungalows without know anything about nungwi area and zanzibar island.
Once arrived there, i realized thst nungwi is the best area of zanzibar for the beautiful and peaceful beaches and for the fastastic hotel i booked! Amaan bungalow is absolutely central and in the middle of the best beaches of the island, it is a real paradise and very well connected! the staff is absolutely fantastic.
A suggestion: chose a room sea view, as the garden view room are very hot, infact i change the room during my stay!

“Rip Off”

Do Not Stay Here. This place is a run down casino, designed to take as much money from you as possible, at every angle. Everything is overpriced. There are no ATMs in the area, with the exception of the hotel, which charges you a 10 percent fee to swipe your card and give you shillings (they won't give your dollars). Better yet, when you try to pay in shillings they inflate the covnersion in their favor. In short a 70 dollar room ends up costing 90, and they pocket the difference. Food is horrible as well. Do not come here.

“Great ocean view rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

We stayed at Amaan Beach Bungalows at the end of August. We had initially reserved a deluxe garden room but upgraded to anocean view room. The rooms not on the ocean are not worth the price- just a standard hotel room overlooking a patch of grass. It was $150 for the ocean view room and $120 for the deluxe garden room. Definitely worth the $150 as the balcony was literally over the water at high tide! Some reviews talked about poor service- this is not the case! They were super helpful, especially at check-in when we decided to change rooms. Other reviews talked about the bad breakfast. This has changed, too! Rates include breakfast (you could pay more for all-inclusive, which I would NOT do because there are so many restaurants nearby to try!) and it includes made-to-order eggs or pancakes, fresh fruit, coffee/tea, cereal. No complaints there! By the way, we were there during Ramadan and it's true that the local restaurants in town are closed during the day, but all the tourist places on the beach are still open. We really didn't notice it.
As for Nungwi Beach itself, it was a great place to stay! Amaan Bungalows is in the middle of the tourist strip of hotels/resorts, but it was quiet. We never had trouble with noise. The party bar is at the other end of the beach. If you want to just lay by the pool all day, you may want to pay more for a resort with a pool or on a secluded beach, but if you're like us and like to walk the beach, try a different restaurant for every meal, shop, SCUBA dive, then Nungwi is perfect. We're 30 years old and found people there of all ages.
