Old staff have become lazy, expect the tip on the last day of your stay. Not a cheap holiday for family's.Michael, the resort BIG manager he is also lazy, shows no respect to the Fijian staff, looks down on them, he thinks he's the better. And if you want a clean room each day, stay somewhere else. The place needs a good overhaul.

If you would like to stay in the most friendliness resort in Fiji then you had better book at the Shangri-La's Fijian Resort, if would like not to want for anything then this is the place to stay. All of the staff are so good and friendly they just want to make you return to this resort, yes it might be a bit pricey but it is worth every penny. Good stuff all round the food was perfect the rooms were perfect, not much more to say but we wish the weather was a little bit drier, 22/01-31/01/12

We didn't end up staying here because I had an accident the day before we were due to fly out and broke a rib. I was going to travel anyway, but awoke at 3am on the morning of departure in terrible paind and simply too unwell to travel.

One telephone call to the resort explaining why we would be unable to travel and that we would not be arriving in 6hrs as planned, and they didn't hesitate to offer a full unpenalised refund of all monies already paid. And that was even though we had booked and paid for a non-refundable accommodation as it was an extremely cheap price. They didnt' have to refund us anything, but they did.

We will defiantely be rebooking our trip, whatever the cost, later in the year once my broken rib is healed.

I have stayed here several times before, many years ago so the remainder of this review is based on my prior experiences.

Just stayed 6 nights at the Shangri La and its difficult to find anything to fault. Even with the horrible weather and floods, the people were unbelievably accommodating and the resort was beautiful.

We stayed in a lagoon view room and it was very clean and tidy. Housekeeping would come in every day and leave fresh flowers on the bed, it was a very nice touch. Yes there is a bit of mould in the bathroom but the tropical climate and humidity will do that.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and the food is really good everywhere - the Golden Cowrie was excellent and their service impeccable. As for the prices, if you've ever been to Sydney you'll know the prices are very reasonable and in most instances lower than what you'd find here. The prices on cocktails and alcohol are also reasonable and a visit to the Black Marlin Bar is necessary - ask for Manu. He'll mix up some amazing shots.

The people are so friendly and welcoming that you'd never want to leave. Jim from the adult pool and Mary from the beach message bure as well as Mun definitely gave us plenty of reason to come back.

It was our first time in Fiji but definitely not the last.
