Novotel Lami is a good three star hotel. Highlights: nice location still convenient to town and with Lami shops just down the road; free shuttle buses weekday morning to town; friendly and helpful staff; good buffet breakfast. Downsides: shower cubicle was dirty on arrival; one room I stayed in had no fridge; connecting rooms can be noisy (but ear plugs worked).

Stayed one night while waiting for diveboat. Toilet seat with urine on it. no water in fridge (tho' hotel info advised against drinking tap water and said bottled water in fridge.)
Best news-- a beautiful spot with a lovely view of islands in the lagoon.
food good--and service ok--except one unbelievably rude waiter who clearly took an instant dislike to us and basically refused to wait on us ( we did get someone else to bring us one course)--but we waited in vain for desert menu--then for bill; only when we finally got up after being studiously ignored for at least 20 minutes, did he chase after us to get signatures.

Through no fault of hotel, it rained during our brief stay--and so could not use the nice pool (the only available activity.)

We stayed here for 5 nights while attending a conference and were comfortable. Though we arrived much earlier then check in time, we were welcomed with a drink and our room was ready in no time at all.
For the price we paid our waterfront room was very good value - modern and clean and the air con was the most efficient we encountered during our stay in Fiji!
Only downside was bed linen and rug had permanent staining and the mini fridge didn't work very well but otherwise room was great. Comfortable bed, nice big shower and free internet access thrown in was a nice touch.
Food was fresh and tasty but room service could be improved on in as far as consistency (Items ordered were not always as described on menu when we got them or some elements were missing in dishes).
Housekeeping, front desk and F&B staff aswell as the hotel manager Simon were all a delight to deal with and we would stay again next time we are in Suva.
