We stayed for 3 nights at The Westin on the last of our 11 day Fiji holiday. We had previously stayed at the Sheraton (absolutly amazing!) and Castaway Island (paradise on earth!) So we were in great spirits ready for the last leg of our trip.
The dissapointments started at check in, when we enquired about changing money currency we were told that we could not do that and were shoved off to the business centre were the lady behind the desk was extremely rude and told us to go back to check in. Finally after much explaining we were told that yes we could convert money. We were then told our room was not ready and that we would be informed of when it would be, we could not room charge any food and were left waiting and hungry. We decided to swim in the pool and not once were we informed of when the room was ready.
It wasnt until 4 hours later that i decided to ask and i got a very rude response of "yeah well it was ready 2 hours ago"
Once we got to our room i then discovered that my fiancee and i were to sleep in 2 seperate single beds! When i called front desk i got this response "when you book a room its request only so you could end up with any bed type, we are at 100% occupancy also so we cant change you" i was furious at this and had a word to the duty manager who sorted out the suitation for us the next day, he was very helpful.
The resturants were ok, nothing great and youll find better eating at the Sheraton. Breakfast was nice, with a nice range of foods. I know everyone is on "Fiji time" but waiting 30 mins just to see a menu was becoming ridiculous.
The beach is not pleasant, murky and no sand to sit on. Rooms were lovely except our air conditioning broke down and was off for nearly a whole day making the room extremely hot.
We also received wake up calls at 530am which we did not request.
Overall we were dissapointed, we loved Fiji however and luckily our first 2 resorts allowed us to have an amazing time.
