“Awesome Trip”

Stayed at Breezes Trelawny Feb 2 2012 to Feb 10 2012 it was Great! It was not a 5 star hotel but it was very clean and the staff were extemely friendly and helpful. The beach was clean and nice sand. Every night they would rake up any sea weed that had washed up. Great nightly entertainment. Excellent bang for your buck! I would reccomend if you go to bring a pen. There seemed to be a pen shortage. That is my only complaint. Lots of things to do. Arcade, watersport, water slides, pool in the pool. Had a massage it was awesome. I am not sure why there are negative reviews. The cassablanca restaurant was fantastic, you do need to dress up no flip flops. The japanesse resturant was also soooo good and very entertaining. I had a great trip and would deffinately return!!!

Room Tip: any ocean view room would be great,

We stayed at Breezes from Feb 1-11 with a group of 9. This was our second trip to Jamaica. Our first resort here was the Grand Palladium. While this is not a 4.5* resort, our group had a fabulous time here. There is a lot to offer for everyone, without paying the high end. Our rooms were clean, great food, wonderful beach and pool and fabulous entertainment. We took it all in and enjoyed every moment.

Good food, great drinks, friendly staff, clean property (in spite of being outdated) and a great time.

Some things to point out:

1) Some of the trips offered on the resort are of good value. We always had a driver as there were a lot of us, but there were 2 trip we thought were of good value. The first is to Dunn's River for $52.00. We rented a driver for the lot of us and we paid $25.00 each for hime and $20.00 to get into Dunn's River. Their website says $15.00. This is incorrect. The advantage we had was that we had our driver for the day where as this trip would only have been for about 4 hours or so. Having said that, if there are only 2 in your group, this is still not a bad price. If you have more than 2 people going...get a driver for the day and also have him take you into the mountains. Our guide was Carl. He is located in the Walmart section on the beach. We had 3 trips with him and no problem mon! The other good value is the combo of Dunn's River and the Ziplining, transportation for $118.00. We tried to do this seperately and the people at Mystic Mountain wanted $115.00 just for ziplining alone. There are only 5 platforms and in my opinion not worth it. Go through the resort, unless you can find someone who can get you in for cheaper. We wound up not doing the ziplining. They turned away 7 of us that day.

2) There are some insects that come out at night and stay on the ouside of your door. Not a big deal. They are gone by the morning. They don't bother you. But just a heads up for any one that might be concerned.

3) The vendors at the hotel are also very good for buying things from. I brought back a beautiful carving of a chair/planter from Bryan. Very unique. Barter with him and you'll get a reasonable price. Only cost me $20.00 to bring back on West Jet.

All in all, a great value for this trip and a good time. If you go in with different expectations, as we did, you will have a great time. We would definitely go back.

Have a great vacation everyone and relax!

“Great Time at Breezes”

We stayed from Feb 1-8th. My husband and I travelled with our 2 year old daughter and my mother. We had an amazing time and don't understand some of the negative comments that are written about this resort. The buffet food was great, fresh, hot and lots of variety everyday. They make amazing Jerk chicken. The two restaurants were fantastic. REALLY friendly staff. Price was good for the amenities and compared to other resorts in Jamaica. The only "negative" that I will mention is that it is an older building and it does needs some TLC (eg: a light in our room kept burning out and the elevators stalled a couple of times (don't push too many buttons at the same time!)) However, the rooms, grounds, pools, resaturants, buffet and beach are all well kept and clean. Housekeeping came daily and did a great job whether we tipped or not (we tipped every second day). If we returned, I would probably stay in the cottages rather than the resort as the resort was a bit of a walk (maybe 5 min) to the beach and all the activities. Resort room walls are thin, but we were never disturbed at night. It is more of a family resort, so if you love kids and want a family vacation, then it is perfect. Lots of activities for all ages (flying trapeze, mini golf, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, waterslides, hot tubs, lots of pools and chairs, snorkeling was OK (but I am biased after snorkeling in the best spots in Thailand), beautiful beach, lots of excursion/tour opportunities. On most nights, things quite down at this resort around 10:30pm which was perfect for my family vacay.

All in all, a great time!!

Room Tip: The cottages or the Mountain view side of the resort would be the best place to stay if you like pea...

Hotel was quiet a pleasant surprise. Staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything you needed. Hotel not one of the newest but it is well kept and clean. Family friendly, I would go again and I would recommend to my kids to bring their kids.

Room Tip: Definately get the ocean view.

“Great Memories”

I booked this as a cheapy through travelzoo and then became concerned by all the negative reviews. Yes, the hotel is quite old and dated but everything was spotlessly clean. However, the big surprise was the superb quality of the food - this was much better than resorts that I have paid 2 or 3 times as much for. The buffet breakfast was great, jerk chicken from the pool grill at lunch time really hit the spot (especially with a few beers) and the speciality Italian and Japanese restaurants were first class. We also did the lobster night (supplement) which was fabulous.
The all inclusive drink quality was really good - great spirits, mixers and cocktails! We also made some great friends on this holiday and ended up having a really good time.
