“A quiet, relaxing break”

Lovely hotel, quiet location with def more Spanish than British around! Rooms comfortable but not luxurious. Outdoor pool, very cold even in August heat. Food exquisite. So much choice and variety to try. Def more of a couples location. Beach is clean & golden. Not a lot to do nearby, told it is deserted out of season. Went for one week, did a trip to Sevilla and it was enough. There's a light welcome breeze & lots of sunlight. Makes it a lovely location. H/B more than enough. Food choices huge.

“Relaxing Holiday”

My husband and I spent 2 weeks here in June 2011 . We stayed all inclusive and always had plenty to eat as great selection of food . On the whole reception staff very friendly and helpful and agree at times there were small queues to go in for dinner but these moved quickly and if you picked your time you could walk straight in.

Lovely pool area and never had a problem getting a sunbed and most times a sunshade, the pool and garden area is well kept. Rooms a bit on the small side however we are out most of the day and really only use to sleep/shower. Heard some people complaining that All inclusive only went on till 11pm .. and also about certain drinks carrying supplement ... what do they want I say as it was UK brand names on a lot of things and you could drink from 10 am . Staff around the complex were friendly and agree that sometimes the lady behind the bar was not a happy bunny but if you smiled and chatted to her she soon came round.. If you are looking for a lively resort then you have chosen the wrong place but if you want beaches that stretch for miles a few local bars and a bit of rest and relaxation then go ahead. Short bus ride to Ayamonte with shops ,bars and local restaurants and the short ferry over to Portugal plenty of other interesting places close by. We will definately be back as it reminded me of Spain the way it was 20 odd years ago before mass tourism and huge built up resorts.

“Relaxing, hidden spanish gem.”

For those of you who go to the Algarve why not go in the other direction across the border into Spain and to a Spain your really not used to and not what you see on the telly. This area of Spain is beautiful and the whole area of about 7km is surrounded in water. The beach opposite the hotel stretches for miles and the sand is beautiful and to the right you can see over into Portugal. The beach front has few bars and restaurants along it and not one single sign saying burger and chips nuggets and chips pizza and chips so why not sit in Bar Atlantic and watch the sun go down. We went as a family of 12 with 8 adults and 4 children, the rooms are quite small but when you think about it how much time do you spend in your room? The rooms are clean and the beds and towls are changed every day. The hotel is huge and the outside area is well kept and the water features and fountains are nice, the pool is large and one side of the pool is shallow and the other deeper and both are joined by a narrow river there is also a shallow childrens pool the only bad thing is its freezing this time year so went swimming in the sea instead. The hotel food was outstanding for someone who is funny about food this was a real treat the fish, meat, salads, pasta dishes and deserts were amazing the staff were great apart from one sour faced cow on the bar but who knows her personal circumstances. The entertainment was mainly for all the Spanish but it was good to see what they like they love line dancing to achey breaky heart. This is the real Spain the holiday brochue does not do it justice. If you want to go to Spain away from the brits this is the place! Just to add the few british people we did meet which was about 10 were great think we were all there looking for the same thing peace and a slow pace.

“Peaceful break”

The hotel is great, with a lot of rooms with excellent views. The pool and terrace were as good as the pictures. Best option is to go All-inclusive. There is a great selection of food, to suit most people. Best time for food is 5 minutes after the doors open, as it's quieter. The resort is quite small and there was little open in May, which suited us. The manmade beach is great for early morning and evening walks. I would stay here again, if I could get another AI deal. Otherwise the food may be a touch expensive. The big downside was the poor entertainment in the off-season. There were only a few children, who were all quiet and well-behaved, but this holiday was just oustside the school holidays.Nice quiet holiday, nice quiet resort (off-season).

Room Tip: Looks like all rooms are good. The better rooms didnt seem worth it as ours was a standard room and...

“Spanish Tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

This is a truly Spanish hotel with good food, great atmosphere and well kept grounds in a very peaceful location. Bedroom was spotless and overlooked the pool and sea.
Buffet breakfast and evening dinner were excellent with every choice catered for.
The beach was just across the road ( which was very quiet) and the sea was warmer than the outdoor pool
Would recommend this hotel for a relaxing week by the sea.

Room Tip: Have a sea view room if possible but take care.....mosquitos everywhere after dark.
