Wonderful B&B, wonderful hosts, great breakfast. We stayed in the Lavande room - - just perfect for a family of 4. We did not get to try the pool (this was in May and still quite chilly) but the next time we go we will definitely take a dip! the hotel is close to Sarlat town which must not be missed. We were lucky to be there on Tuesday, which was market day. There were so many wonderful cheeses, foie gras and wine. We highly recommend this hotel and the Dordogne area!

“A perfect location and lovely helpful owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

The buildings and grounds are beautiful and peaceful but handy to all the fabulous attractions of the Perigord region. Charming french host and english hostess. Eric has excellent knowledge of the area and his comprehensive advice on itineraries and destinations should be heeded to make the most of your stay.

“Ideal Stay to Explore the Dordogne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We spent a week here on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed.
The rural setting is lovely.
Eric and Helen are wonderful hosts who provided excellent advice on exploring the Dordogne.
They also provided great advice on places to dine, place one would be unlikely to find on one's own, all charming and very French.
The breakfast each morning included fresh fruit, cheese and meats as well as baguettes and croissants. Eric was readily available at breakfast to assist in planning our day.
The rooms are clean, well decorated and included coffee and tea and a kettle, something we did not find in any other accommodation.
The grounds and pool are as seen in the photos. The pool is heated and very clean. We had picnic suppers on the grounds twice during our stay, using the picnic basket provided.
A great place to stay for anyone, this would be a super place to stay if traveling with your children.

“Best B&B of our trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

Having stayed in a few chambres d'hotes on our trip to France at the end of September, we came across Les Charmes by chance (with a little help from Tripadvisor...). We were delighted to find that the B&B lived up to the rave reviews we had already read. Great location (you need Sat Nav to find it), super house, pool and grounds, and nice, friendly hosts. Eric is very organised and has business cards at hand for anything you would like to do - day visits, restaurants etc. The room we had in the loft was spacious and nicely decorated, and was air-conditioned : important in summer. The only small criticism we had is that the bed was a bit small (short) and uncomfortable. All in all we would definitely go back for a longer stay next time !

Room Tip: Loft room is most spacious
