We stumbled on this LOVELY hotel very close to Bonifacio in the south of the island. Acheda Hotel De Charme comprises a converted farm and buildings. The rooms/suites were rustic but very well equipped indeed and a true 4 star standard. The staff are totally charming, the setting gorgeous and the restaurant should be Michelin starred (if it's not already, I didn't check). We did a half-board package with dinner and lucked into one of the best meals I've had in quite some time. Not hip and trendy obviously and if you're expecting a W you'll be horribly disappointed (as apparently some Tripadvisor reviewers were!!) but taken in context, absolutely lovely.
I'm really not quite sure what the negative reviewers on this site though they were getting. If you want somewhere quaint, charming, authentic with great food, you won't be disappointed by the Acheda. Check out the photos on Expedia etc, they're very genuine and a good representation.
