A wonderful, laid-back beachfront ambience, the cabañas were basic and simple, but pleasant and roomy with nice patios and private hammocks. The owners were very friendly and helpful, even to the extent of guiding our group of four on a tour of the island, taking in a nice ice-cream parlour and a beach bar we would otherwise have missed. The hotel is right on the beach and very well placed for Brig Bay (10 minutes’ walk down the beach). There is snorkelling around the wreck just off the beach - and apparently also spear-fishing (check with the hotel owner, Mike). One of the hotel’s highlights is the restaurant. The quality of the food and the outdoor ambiance were excellent and service amiable and good. We had planned to eat at some other restaurants on the island during our stay, but we ended up eating at the Paraiso all four evenings (for reasons of quality, ambiance and convenience). The only slight drawback was the front desk manager, who seemed rather uninterested, slow and unhelpful at times. A great stay - we'll be back.
